No shit.

Just punched it into google maps 3 1/2 hour drive

For a qualifier...

Yep its pretty shitty

7 hour round trip I'd probably just stay the night up there if we copped a fixture like that.

Please, Cobram isn't that far, 3-4 hours is manageable. When I played in Scotland, these kinds of travel times could be fairly common and as long as the game kicked off at 3pm Saturday it wasn't really a problem. My club in East Glasgow got stung twice with cup trips to the highlands. Fort William took 3 and a half hours and another to around Dingwall (where Ross County play) which takes around 4.

Did 3.5 hours to Cairns for Fury away days (Y)

Easy peasy.

Howdy guys, long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm gonna vent and you guys can listen or feel free to call me retarded and shit all over my thoughts. :P

First and foremost, I understand that the initial FFA Cup spots were developed from the numbers of players in each member federation, but I really do have to say that I feel as though South Australia were snubbed. Here are some achievements from SA clubs in the past 12 months

Adelaide City

Defeated the Western Sydney Wanderers (The only member federation club to defeat a A-League club) in the FFA Cup.

One of four member federation clubs to score against an A-League club (The only one to keep a clean sheet)

Second furthest cup run from a member federation club (went to extra time when Palm Beach were eliminated in regulation time)

Adelaide United

Won the FFA Cup.

Top scorer in the FFA Cup.

North Eastern MetroStars

Won the National Premier Leagues' Finals Series. (While playing all matches away from home, including the two largest and toughest federations in the Semi Final and Final).

In 2014, the spots were allocated on player numbers in each member federation. South Australia only gained one spot, due to them having at the time 30 teams (which became 29 when Enfield City went under). The reason for this is that the lower divisions of State League football in SA are ran by the South Australian Amateur Soccer League. A lot of clubs favour the SAASL than playing in the FFSA leagues, as the SAASL targets community development and inturn, a lot of local clubs find their cheaper fees to be the more attractive alternative.

When it came time for the 2015 FFA Cup spots to be announced, South Australia surely did enough to warrant a second club to compete (I realise that MetroStars will be competing, however they qualified from a national tournament). South Australia still had just one spot available.

What if South Hobart were to have won the NPL Finals Series? Is there even a second Tasmanian team which could claim to be more deserving of a FFA Cup spot than Adelaide City, North Eastern MetroStars, Croydon Kings or West Adelaide? Surely not. What about Far North Queensland? Would it really have been so bad if West Adelaide were playing that first round fixture against Sydney United 58? Would that match have gained more than 750 people in the crowd to watch an old NSL rivalry come back to life?

I feel as though had MetroStars not won the NPL Finals Series, that the FFA would've looked at the facts and given SA a second spot, however with MetroStars' qualification, it was easy for them to turn a blind eye to the efforts of SA clubs and justify that SA didn't need a second spot, as they technically have a second team competing.

I also feel as though that should a SA team not win the NPL Finals Series in 2015 (which by the way, is completely biased in favour of NSW/Victoria [Having them start their Finals Series playing against ACT and TAS and being able to gain more goal points due to playing lesser opposition]), that SA will for 2016 recieve an actual secondary position.

I just needed to vent a bit, but this really grinds my gears.

Fun Fact - SA had 5 teams in both the 1979 and 1980 NSL Cups - Round of 32.

I wish this weren't true and that I actually had a life.

Oh well. *Shrugs*

Also, I thought that Chopper clip summed the FFA's decision up perfectly. I wonder how they'll react should Adelaide join the Eastern Standard Timezone. Currently it's all over the news. It looks like it will go ahead.

Back on track, I fixed the FFA Cup qualifying rounds page. The Washing Line's website now says that Queensland have decided to start their comp in Round 2, rather than one. Ten seconds of changes for them, 90 minutes of changes on Wiki. Urgh. I need booze.

Has there been any information released about qualifying in Northern Territory or ACT?

The Federation Cup in ACT doesn't finish in time for their winner to go to the FFA Cup (or at least it didn't in previous years), which was why Tuggeranong was their entrant for winning the 2013 Cup.

If they take the same approach this year, it would be Belconnen United who won the Cup last season, and would have qualified for the FFA Cup.

Not a word, I'm afraid. SA will do their draw at half-time of the MetroStars match, which is in 2 days, so that's quite convienient.

BTW - I'm that J-Man on Wiki. The guy updating every pedantic detail of the FFA Cup qualifying page, like an autist. I've been hitting those refresh buttons like a bitch, but nothing. :P

Someone has come along and put up a shitload of "Articles for Deletion" tags on club pages. Your talk page itself has a message about Mount Druitt Town Rangers failing notability... People take that shit too seriously. :(

Unfortunately it looks like my side (RMIT) will have to drop out since we haven't got 15 players registered on our team yet. :(

But was it for a cup qualifier? I hope you're right and these guys rock up.

Yeah it was one for the entry rounds of the Scottish Cup. I also hope these lads go, there should be a lot more interest in the cup now it's been exposed to the public.

I would think so and it should keep players in the game and moving up. However, as previously posted, RMIT match may be a walk over. Not a good start.
