Great facilities there, I remember playing a youth league game there back in the day, would be great to see it used at a high level again.

I trialed for Balmain Tigers CDSFA district 1st division team at Wentworth Park. Pitch quality was dreadful, however. :(

The goal posts were ancient, and the nets had bigger holes in them than the shark nets at Bondi. That was about 3 years ago. Hopefully the Wentworth Park groundsmen give the Balmain FC State League team a better facility than what we trailed on.

That's ashame, was great about 12 years ago when we had a trail game against Olympic. Got potential for a city based NPL side if the chance ever comes up.

Despite the result it was a great day on Saturday in Gisborne.

Thought id write up a little review.

After heavy rain overnight it was very hot a humid at kick off time at Dixon Field in Gisborne. Better than normal turn out as most of the rest of sqaud, a few keen onlookers and some cricketers who had thier match next door called off stuck around to watch.

Gisborne started very well and within 5 Mins had opened the scorer through the on Debut Kurtis Borg who headed in a trademark long throw from skipper Adam Nadin. Very much a back and forth game until Old Trinity equalist on about 35' mins. Some contreversy just before half time as Gisborne keep Cam Laing brought down the Old Trinity striker just outside the area and escaped with a yellow. The second half was just as even as the first with Old Trinity scoring the only goal of the 2nd half on about 80'. Gisborne had a few half chances late however Old Trinity held on for the 2-1 Win.

Good stuff. It's too bad, was pulling for Gisborne as during my childhood we often drove up to Bendigo for Easter holidays and we'd stop off in Gisborne along the way, it's very pleasant up there.

I would love someone to do a FFA Cup podcast would be brilliant.
