Yeah there are plenty. I am only trying to add the ones that have quotes, rather than journalists just stating results and such.

Garden Suburb FC from Northern NSW seems to be the FFA Cup's poisoned chalice:

Without fail, every single club that crossed their FFA Cup qualification path in 2014 lost their next game.

In the 2015 Cup, they also lost their first game to Toronto Awaba, who went on to lose to Jesmond FC... Interesting to see what happens next.

Saints Bow Out of Westfield FFA Cup18/03/2015
The St Albans Saints bowed out of the FFA cup on Saturday, after a disappointing loss to state 3 league side Caulfield Cobras. The Saints fielded an under strength side for the clash at Knights Stadium.

The Cobras came out of the blocks early stamping their dominance on the match. In the 19th minute they had received a penalty after a challenge inside the box. To the Saints relief, the penalty shot sailed wide and over the cross bar. The saints then regrouped and began to get into the match with a few chances and shots on goal. But, the first half ended goalless.

The second half started like the first as the Cobras got out of the block early scoring in the first 5 minutes of the half. Within 10 minutes coach Joe Kovacevic decided it was time to make a few changes, bringing on Ben Shapers, Nicholas Scerri and Daniel Sweeney. The move seemed to have paid off as Barry Devlin scored after a scramble in the box with 15 minutes to go in the half. With three minutes remaining, Teddy Yabio had a goal disallowed for an apparent hand ball. The saints continued to attack, but couldn’t convert their chances.

Extra time saw the Saints dominate the first half without success. The second half of extra time was more even with both sides having their chances. But, the match ended 1 – 1, with penalty shootout 4 – 5 in favour of the Cobras.

The Saints will now lick their wounds and concentrate on the league, as they prepare for the round four clash away to Sunshine George Cross.

FFA Cup - Dynamos brush aside Albany

FFA Cup - Dynamos brush aside Albany
Westfield FFA Cup action came to Bunburys Forrest Park on Sunday, when Dynamos entertained Albany Bayswater, for the chance to progress to Round 3 of Cup Action.

A good crowd had gathered at Forrest Park, to see the new look Dynamos young guns, face an opposition, whos past history for their region have always proved to be a tough affair.

Dynamos fielded 7 players in their starting eleven under the age of 19, and with a mix of experience thrown in, proved worthy in their cause.

For the first half hour both teams seemed content with seeing what the other had to offer. Dynamos had the runners at the top end of the pitch, with midfielders Hayes, Hogarth and Pryce, constantly playing in Kinkella, Sutton and Evans, while Albany looked to play the long ball to their strikers.

It took 30 minutes for Dynamos to finally break through, when young Tristan Kinkella was played through the centre of the park, one on one with the keeper, he saw his shot saved. Ryan Pryce was there to back him up, and after cutting the ball inside his defender shot one past the Albany keeper in the back of the net.

Dynamos were starting to settle, and were beginning to find their passing game. Just before the half time break they struck again. Josh Cruikshank sent a ball into the 18 yard box, Albany only partially cleared their lines, and Kinkella volleyed a shot which ricocheted off Mike McKenna into the goal. 2-0 going into the break.

The second half saw Dynamos superior fitness and foot skills on show. Michael Evans was beginning to cause havoc in the attacking third, and when he rounded 3 defenders and layed the ball back, McKenna was on hand to slot his second and his teams 3rd.

It was starting to rain goals!! Evans once again slipped his markers, this time placing the ball perfectly into the oncoming Pryce who hammered the ball into the top corner. 4-0

Albany werent done though, and through a quick break, caught Dynamos on the hop getting a goal back after a scramble in the box. Another quick play from Albany saw them gaining a foul within the penalty area. Penalty given. Young Dynamos keeper Kobe Lie, pulled off a tremendous save only to see the Albany players first on the rebound to slot the goal home. 4-2

Dynamos werent phased, and now with runners all over the park, Dynamos were rampant. Evans got himself a goal he thoroughly deserved, then substitute Dale Murray, showed his class in finishing, slotting two more late goals.

Final score 7-2.

This was a great result for the Dynamos Soccer Club.

The win now sees them face up to a local derby of sorts, with the draw being done on Monday, Dynamos saw their name come out of the pot straight after SW Phoenix. This will be one game that the local community will rally behind, and it promises to be a spectacle to behold.

The game will be played on the 28-29 March, time and day to be confirmed

FFA Cup - Margaret River Bow Out Gallantly
17 Mar 2015 Written by South West Soccer Association Published in Premier League Mens
FFA Cup - Margaret River Bow Out Gallantly
Margaret River 0 Perth Jaguars FC 2

Margaret River hosted Perth Jaguars on Saturday in the FFA Cup, this is the equivalent of the English version of the FA Cup. After a hugely successful pre season carnival, the local team were keen to see if they could continue their strong form into this game.

The game was played at a very high tempo and both teams were playing at a very high standard. You knew from the outset that this was going to be a very tight affair as both defences were not giving anything away, and it was going to be the team who took their chances on the day.

When the half time whistle went, with the score line at 0-0, you could have thought that this suggested a boring game, but this could not be further from the case, as both teams had chances but failed to put the ball in the net. The highlight of the first half was the outstanding save from Margaret River goalkeeper Ian Scott who tipped the ball over the cross bar from a shot that came from point blank range.

The second half was a repeat of the first half and both teams were getting edgier as the game wore on.

Margaret River had a ten minute spell midway through the second half where they had numerous chances to take the lead, but failed to beat the keeper and such is the case in sport, you have to take your chances.

With 10 minutes to go, Perth Jaguars took the lead from a scrappy goal. This gave the visitors the lift they needed and they made it 2-0 shortly after with a strike that was worthy of winning any game.

Although Margaret River battled hard, they couldnt find a way through a resolute Jaguars defence and the final whistle blew to end an epic game.

Congratulations to all players on a hugely entertaining game and a big thank you to the Augusta Margaret River Football Club for their assistance in hosting the game.

If anyone is interested in playing this season please contact Coach Paul Brown on 0417 967 591

Only games in Queensland and Northern NSW I think.

I happen to have a trip planned from Brissy to Armidale in Northern NSW this weekend. Great timing, as I'll be able to watch two FFA Cup games while I'm there.

Massive weekend coming up. Lubricate butt holes.

Only games in Queensland and Northern NSW I think.

I happen to have a trip planned from Brissy to Armidale in Northern NSW this weekend. Great timing, as I'll be able to watch two FFA Cup games while I'm there.

How many games?

14 Games - 4 in QLD, 10 in NNSW.

Take a photo with the Westfield Cup March 20, 2015, 10:30 a.m.

Local soccer fanatics will have the chance to pretend they are football federation stars when the Westfield FFA Cup makes its home in Whyalla.

The cup is currently touring regional South Australia as part of the National Scouting Report Australian Regional Rounds.

Locals will have the opportunity to see and be photographed with the cup on Saturday ahead of the highly anticipated Raiders versus Modbury Jets match in the Round 7 Playstation 4 National Premier League fixture.

Last year, South Australian team Adelaide United was crowned the inaugural Westfield FFA Cup winners.

The Westfield FFA Cup will be available for viewing on Saturday, March 21 at Wanderers Soccer and Social Club at 12:45pm until 1.15pm and 2.15pm until 2.45pm.

Football Federation SA chief executive officer Michael Carter said that parading the Westfield FFA Cup illustrated the connection between grassroots and elite football clubs throughout the country.

“The Westfield FFA Cup was enthusiastically received by young children, players and spectators in Mount Gambier at the weekends regional event. Offering the same opportunity to Whyalla residents is an excellent outcome,” Mr Carter said.

“The Westfield FFA Cup connects the grassroots to the elite and offers country clubs with the opportunity to compete in a truly national cup competition.”
