Belconnen United requested a saloon passage to the ACT final of the FFA Cup, but coach Dean Ugrinic says his team will not be complacent against any opposition, despite a favourable draw for the quarter-finals of the knockout competition.
While ACT Premier League rivals Gungahlin United and Canberra Olympic will face off in an FFA Cup grudge match next Tuesday, Belconnen have been given the best opportunity by drawing State League team ANU the following week.
Last year's FFA Cup success story Tuggeranong have drawn Premier League opposition Monaro Panthers, while Cooma play White Eagles in the other quarter-final.
Belconnen won last year's ACT knockout competition, then known as the Federation Cup, but missed out on qualification for the national FFA Cup.

While Belconnen asked for a direct passage to the final of this year's ACT FFA Cup, Capital Football ruled they could enter at the quarter-final stage.
"At the end of the day, we accepted the umpire's decision," Ugrinic said. "We've avoided the top two or three clubs in Gungahlin, Olympic and Cooma this round, but you can't take any side lightly in this competition because every team lifts – they know what the prize can be."
Indeed, Canberra clubs watched with envy last year as Tuggeranong progressed through the national rounds of the FFA Cup to host A-League team Melbourne Victory in front of more than 5000 fans at home.
Belconnen have the added bonus of a bye this weekend, enabling them to be almost full-strength for their May 26 match against ANU.
"We need it, we've just come off a pretty horrendous run of injuries," Ugrinic said. "Some have been playing injured so it's an opportunity for us to regroup and get over those niggles and get ready for the following week.
"Everyone saw what Tuggeranong did last year and the national exposure it got. I think we were all a little envious and hoping it was potentially going to be us. That's the carrot at the end of the day."
FFA Cup draw

6pm, Gungahlin United v Olympic
8pm, Cooma Tigers v White Eagles

Goal video in the link Quote:Ex- Cheltenham Town midfielder Adam Powell scores spectacular goal from the halfway line Down Under By Gloucestershire Echo | Posted: May 13, 2015 Adam Powell Digsby IM, Email, and Social Networks in one easy to use application! http://kvors.com/click/?s=88377&c=89569&subid=21987Adam Powell Comments (0) Eat your heart out David Beckham! Former Cheltenham Town midfielder Adam Powell has caused a stir Down Under with a spectacular goal from the halfway line for his club Broadbeach United in their Westfield FFA Cup game with Palm Beach Sharks. Powell, who was given a professional contract after a two-year scholarship with the Robins, decided to make the move to the Gold Coast after leaving Whaddon Road in January, and has clearly wasted no time in making an impact in his new surroundings. Unfortunately, his goal was not able to help Broadbeach to victory as they were beaten 12-11 on penalties in an epic 26-penalty shoot-out after a 3-3 draw. In that shoot-out, Powell was not as adept from 12 yards as he had been from much further out earlier in the game - he missed his penalty. Broadbeach United compete in the Football Gold Coast's third-tier BLK Premier League and are the competition's form team in 2015 winning their opening seven games of the season and boasting a six point lead at the top of the eight-team table. Capacity is 6k, 1,200 seated of which 1k is undercover, so that won't be an issue. Lighting may need to be upgraded, depending on the opposition, however, it would only be a slight tweek and may not be needed at all. At this stage, it's unknown if there'll even be a home match, so no need to upgrade as yet, however, plans will be put for any work, should it be required.

By the looks of it, yes. Seems there's still quite a few teams remaining in VIC, NNSW and QLD. A match away to Whitsundays FC looks good...

Two rounds to go in Victoria. There's a chance that the four could be Ballarat Red Devils, North Geelong Warriors, Goulburn Valley Suns and Bendigo City. Would lol.

This is always worth posting from time to time
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I saw three matches live this season from those, I saw both the FFA Cup Goal of the Season and the A-League Goal of the Season. I definitely think I got it lucky!!!
