So happy with that win. Very solid team performance.

Rose is improving and actually had a really good game. Eriksen is class, he will be key to our season. Dembele actually turned up to play today, which is nice.

I forgot about the rule that says a striker has to score a goal every week.

3 wins from our first 4 games, great platform set as we head into a busy schedule with Europa and League Cup games.

Also, we've only conceded 1 goal in those 4 games. Very impressive.

Not sure if you watched the game, but he continuously gets into great positions, was denied scoring by some saves, the post (from a back heel as well) and blocks. A strikers value isn't just scoring, he always takes away 1 or 2 or sometimes 3 players from the attack. Which tonight left space Eriksen, Townsend etc. to do their work.

Striker must score from open play every week to be good #jlmlogic :P ;)

Anyway, surely AVB is considering new RB's in Jan by now. Walker is consistently shit.

Fair play, from what I've seen he does look dangerous, just hasn't been able to tuck one away yet, much like early Giroud last season. Pendaldo is sticking for now though ;)

Surely LB is the biggest concern. Walker is just in some average form, but Rose is just plain not good enough for a team that wants to compete imo.

This average form from Walker has lasted over a season now. Maybe he's just not that good?

I liked in Eriksen's post match interview the sky sports reporter tried to get the old best league in the world quote out of him but the replied with the league is secondary in choosing his destination and it is more about choosing a club. I know he was not negative about the league but I just like it when sky sports try to have their narrative and it doesn't quite work.

Also Townsend doesn't mind a long shot. He had 9 shots, the next most was Sigurdsson with 4.

Yep, agree. This will be a big season for him, especially if we maintain our cup and league commitments. He just needs to work on his end product, a lot of his dribbles are ruined by a poor cross or a wild shot over the bar. He will develop well over the season.

Watched the replay this morning, wow, Spurs were in total control and played amazing football.

Definitely dark horses for the title.

Tromso tomorrow morning - 1 of 3 fixtures in the next 6 days.

All of which are in different countries.

3-0 win this morning.

Defoe x 2 and Eriksen.
Holtby and Lamela wih assists.

Didn't see the game but saw Rose can off in the 35th. I'd imagine that's an injury? Not good.

I actually really rate Townsend from what little I've seen of him. Has been the only player to get the better of Gibbs so far this season.
Probably just needs a better end product.

I think that'll come with time and hard work.

Good win this morning, in cruise mode most of the game, good to see Defoe can still contribute goals.

Interesting Lamela and Holtby got similar assists for Defoe while Soldaldo has not scored from open play could be difference in movement because I think they make quite different runs I think.

Also Eriksen seems to be quickly overtaking Spurs 3 record signings in becoming their new face. Now I can't say if he is their best player but if he is in good form and people don't focus on the others it could also help them play with a little less pressure.

Well to be fair neither Holtby or Lamela have had much game time this season in partnership with Soldado. Lamela came on as a left winger in place of Siggy on Saturday.

The problem we now have is that with such impressive performances how the fuck do we leave Siggy, Lamela, Erikson or Sandro out of the team? Defoe is also pushing his case and doing well.

Sandro made 94% of his passes on Thursday morning. I know Tromso were weak but that's still impressive.

Good problems to have for once.

Not overly sure on Paulinho to be honest. Seems good but hasn't blown my skirt up yet.

I think we'll see him at his best when paired with Capoue or Sandro, with either Eriksen of Holtby in front of him. He keeps having to sit back with Dembele next to him.

Looking forward to Cardiff tonight, another chance for some fringe players to impress.

I'm an arsenal fan, but one of my good friends is a spuds fan so I know a little bit about what's going on. Do most people see Dembele as a squad player now with two of Sandro/Capoue/Paulinho starting?

I'd prefer to see a midfield 3 of Capoue, Paulinho and Eriksen. The beauty of it is that we can pick the 3 on form and/or depending on the opposition. To the weaker teams, we can play Dembele ahead of Capoue, but when we need to be a bit more solid we can go with Capoue or Sandro.

Dembele has pocked up a bit of form, so he might be there for a while.

Got a little bit lucky last night, but stoked with the 3 points. Siggy is performing well and it was good to see Holtby for a bit at the end. I still think he has lots to offer the team.

Would like to see Lamela transitioned in, but I have a bad feeling it will be for Sig and not Townsend. Much prefer Lamela on the right.

Naughton is shocking and we missed Rose's penetration down the left.

I think Sigurdsson and Holtby are great squaddies but not much more than that.

Is Chadli injured?

I think Townsend needs more time, he has the ability to break defences open and certainly works hard. End product needs work but he has the potential to become excellent.

Yeah Naughton is ordinary, another squaddie, but with Rose and BAE unavailable he had to play someone there... I'd rather Vertonghen though he is a wonderful CB.

Oh well, 3 points against a team that almost pulled off the draw.
