What implications will this have on the EU? Just looks like immigration and labour issues decided the referendum so there must be something bigger at play than a knee jerk reaction

There will not be an Irish reunification referendum. Majority of NI want to stay in GB.
But there will be a Scottish referendum, and they will vote to leave GB this time, and will apply to join the EU on their own.
The irony is this whole thing was unnecessary. Cameron offered this ahead of the last election to try and get potential UKIP voters to vote tory. There was no widespread push for this.
