The same scenario should be adopted for u20/23. A database of all players identified should be kept including overseas players. Camps should be arranged regularly with different scouts brought in to Asses players development not just leave it up to the coach to decide, so hopefully we eliminate the amini debacle.
Since Craig Moore has left nobody in FFA is monitoring age groups 16 through to 23. Who is keeping track of these players especially the overseas based one? I have said it before all Australian youth coaches their assistants and managers should be traveling Australia and the world monitoring players progress at all time. .
Without a centralized database we only keep monitor the ais boys who I mentioned earlier in a post were picked as 14-15 year olds, And yes maybe they were the best at the age but as we all know things change dramatically after that time. It's only natural for the ais coaches and TD to push boys they have developed but who is monitoring the others after that age from all over Australia and around the world Fair comment. As a corollary, there is another instance I found out through this forum, where a state NTC coach laughed at a player in his program when he said he had been offered an EPL contract. Disgusting. The NTC coach didn't want him to go.](*,) Decentric, this is a serious question (i dont know the answer) But, was the NTC a curriculum trained coach? Also, do you think that the reason he laughed at the player getting an english contract was because England allegedly doesnt have KNVB qualified coaches and doesnt teach the proper style of coaching? It sounds to me that this type of attitude is what is being pedalled by many on here, and is one of the dangers of too much education and concentration on text books as opposed to practicalities and common sense. Of course he was a FFA trained curriculum coach. For any coach to coach at this level, they must be trained through FFA. His reasons for laughing at this player were best known to him. This information was passed on to me off forum by another 442 member. I'm not sure we want to identify a NTC coach in a specific state for doing this despicable act. If the other 442 member sees this post , he may want to add to it. Any player I've coached who goes on to bigger and better things, I'm thrilled for them. There is another , former FFA staff coach with very, very dubious character traits and history who has been in the system, who I'm happy to castigate, but all others I've met seem to be of decent character.

Was looking forward to seeing Roberts play again ... hopefully if it is an injury he recovers soon. Haven't seen Mirza play before but I heard he scored 7 goals in one match last year at the Coffs Harbour tourny so hopefully he can experience the same success in the qualifiers! Best of luck to Dylan and the boys! Enjoy your trip mate. JDB03 wrote:Barca4Life wrote:JDB03 wrote:Barca4Life wrote:JDB03 wrote:U16's Joeys will be arriving in Vietnam tonight. If so, he would be eligible for the next u17 tourney as well and the FFA might be holding him back. I know that at one stage you could only play in one u17 WC and it still may be the case. I assume that would go for qualifiers as well. The last tournament wasn't a qualifier was it? If not he could play in that and maintain his eligibility for the next tournament, but can't if he plays these qualifiers. Can anyone confirm?

Correct Roberts was the African kid and last tournament wasn't for qualifiers. Came across this '' In addition to the above provisions, players selected for a representative team at the final competition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup (previously known as the FIFA U-17 World Championship) or the FIFA U-20 World Cup (previously known as the FIFA World Youth Championship) will not be authorised to compete again in Technical rules for the final competition 21 another FIFA U-17 World Cup, even if still eligible from the point of view of age. Players who have only taken part in the preliminary competition of a FIFA U-17 World Cup or a FIFA U-20 World Cup are exempt from this restriction'' on the FIFA regulations. Hopefully it helps answer your question... Aljay wrote:jsoccerdoe wrote: Was looking forward to seeing Roberts play again ... hopefully if it is an injury he recovers soon. 16th: vs Guam 18th: vs Myanmar and in the 20th: vs Vietnam.
Hope they will be a stream available to watch these matches.

If they have a team for u15s from that academy it will be interesting to see how our guys go, especially after they pumped our current u17s. Roberts scored a lot of goals, but he didn't stand out much to me. He had one good game that I recall and I was impressed by his ability to play the hold up man, or the quick winger who gets in behind. I did think that his finishing and build up play were faily poor though.
As for the keeper that was dropped, I sure hope it wasn't the young lad who was quick off his line. He was one of the best junior keepers I've ever watched.

I'm wondering if their 15s that we are playing in this tournament are from the same academy.
