I wouldn't normally say this, but I'm in support of a Watford move. The thing about him is he spent considerable time in the english system, he understands british football, and he has the strength to excel in that kind of environment. With his added little flashes of creative flair he has the potential to be a real impact player for a championship team.

I would have thought he left british football for good reason

Yeah because he wasn't good enough for it then.

But he might be now ;)

Yes, coming to a league that values brains over brawn and technique over physical has done his game a world of good

I'm going to put this out there when somebody says that you're NOT good enough to make it do you stop and give in or prove to themselves and the critics that they are good enough and can be successful, what Aaron Mooy has done is that he hasn't given in and look where its taken him with more to come.

To say he isnt good enough at the age of 19 to any kid most of the time they will just give up, the great sports stars are great for this reason they dont give when somebody says to them your not good enough they prove them wrong!

This is what holds us back the most compared to the rest of the players in the around, the mentality holds us back.

Delph is about 3 light years ahead of Mooy.

He was definitely offered a contract extension by Bolton but turned it down for first team football.

and then st mirren was trying to push him into a wing which he wanted no part of so he left

wsw wanted him to play as a defensive mid which he was not into

gets to mcfc, plays in his prefered position, fkn nails it.

Nails it? What next? The Pope is a Sunni Muslim?

He was in Europe for six years. Between the ages of 16 and 21. The ages at which the best players in the world, usually, start to emerge.

In that time, Mooy made ZERO appearances for Bolton Wanders, he played twenty-one times for St. Mirren and scored one goal.

What I said was that he wasn't good enough the first time. Clearly, this is the case. You could go so far as to say that means he failed the first time by any reasonable measure. Get defensive about this all you like. It was failure. I think so. I'd imagine most of the even-handed, knowledgeable and brainy contributors to this forum would agree that amounts to failure. Draupnir was of the opinion that that is failure.

It doesn't mean he'll fail this time round though ;)

Spot on. Tim Cahill is a perfect example of the right mentality. We need more of our footballers to be like. If you want to succeed in European football you can't expect it all to go smoothly. Craig Johnson has said people told him to hop back to Australia. What did he do? He just trained harder (and smarter) than ever before.

To illustrate the value in what you're saying. When I was in high school, we had a speaker address a few of us. He was a priest, I think, and had also coached the First VIII in rowing. There was a lad he coached who really wanted to be a rower in the First VIII. This priest said to the lad that unfortunately the lad wasn't good enough.

That lad's name is Nick Green. Fast forward some years and he was part of the Oarsome Foursome and won gold medals at the Olympics.

It just goes to show you can't let people decide on your dreams for you. You've got to do it yourself and commit everything. I think the priest was happy to have been proved wrong.

Really? I thought he was awful against West Brom on the weekend... gave the ball away many times... was poor at closing down and pressing his opponent...

What did you think?

Just thinking about Mooy and his poor form over the last two weeks, I reckon a deal has already been done. He is nowhere near as hungry as he was before the last two games against Perth and Adelaide.
