I know there's a game thread already...but I've made this for the old timers like myself who used to head to Timezone / local milk bar and put in shrapnel to get a cheap thril.
Anyone nominate your fav arcade machine games of the 80s and 90s
I used to love challenging people on Streetfighter 2
i miss those days.
I think gaming used to be a lot more social back then compared to now where people's head are buried in their phone

Why just the 80s and 90s? There's plenty of good arcade machines today. I love Midnight Maximum Tune. At Galactic Circus there's always people waiting to use it. Mario Kart is fun too when there's 4 players in the race.

I got pretty far at Double Dragon. It was during one of those power play sessions where you pay in advance and you get the man to keep giving you credits everytime you die. Also used to play Snow Bros a lot and the clown guy in WWE.

Killer Instinct was my jam. Also loved the side scroller X-Men games back in the dizzay. Marvel V Capcom was also a stable. Also know top scored several of the local Time Crisis 2 machines (every other TC was shit bar that one). -PB

Is that similar to Dance Dance Revolution It's a racing game with mostly tuner cars and a story line as well. You get a card to save your cars and progress in the story and you also a free game if you are the winner in multiplayer. Edited by "9GABmeme420": 30/5/2016 03:27:29 PM

-PB Is that x men one the one with 6 players at once..if it's the same one I'm thinking of...that one was hard as fuck and was designed to milk the piggy bank big time. It's so easy to die in that game...even when you use the special power you lose energy...such a rort Edited by Socawho: 30/5/2016 04:07:39 PM

Mortal Kombat 2 was the shit for competitive play. I remember sitting on that thing for hours destroying all these other kids than this dude steps up and wipes me out in no time. Good times. Ridge Racer was up there to.
Before that my local take away when I was in primary school was rocking double dragon, then ghost and goblins and later goblins and ghouls. These 3 games define my childhood of arcade games.

I always controlled both and never understood people who played it differently!!!!

Always wanted one of those refurbished table top games that you can now put 100 games in or whatever you want Those table top games just bring back sooo many (early) childhood memories
Ridge Racer was awesome God, what was that soccer game?? I used to play that all the time
Virtua Fighter Mortal Kombat Time Crisis 2 I seem to recall a ninja turtle game when I was pretty young
Not arcade but i remember one the hindley street arcades had a NHL game like a soccer table (never called it foosball), had a lid on it i reckon... that was freaking awesome!
Oh man, what was the soccer game called!!!!!

Computer assisted was how the arcade was so I usually played it that way. They AI did dumb stuff but I hardly ever passed anyway
