I didn't watch the game and only then just watched the replay of the incident but IMO Cooper deserved it for throwing the ball at the dudes face while he was on the ground. Fifita and Cooper both should have been sent off IMO.

I agree. He should get several weeks for hair pulling. That type of shit is not needed in our game.

Almost every play the ball you'll see something like hair pulling, facial massages, stray elbows, etc the refs and the NRL have had years to get that rubbish out of the game but they choose to do nothing bar the inconsistent penalty here and there. However that's still not an excuse for what Fifita did.

Nah in all fairness that's pretty shocking. The sportsmanship in origin is particularly bad. Both sides are just as bad as each other.

Both sides are shocking. Aaron Woods in game 2 tried to knock out a prone Qld'er on the ground in a tackle towards the end of the game but missed and collected Farah in the head. Farah was stumbling around like a drunk.

Elbowing someone in the head when they're stuck on the ground with nowhere to go is as bad as it gets.

Someone will die one day or get their neck busted.

I agree on one thing, playing the game fairly, the modern game has gone backwards in more ways than one regards to this.
I don't condone Fafita's action let me get this clear BUT its not all one way RBris.

It seems being winners its always the losers that cop the bad raps.
I dislike how this game has turned out and as you say its the officials to blame more than anything else, more so in Origin.
The days of good ol Barry Gomersall were classics in their own right, oh its origin, the rules are a little more open because of what it is, now its niggly sneaky pay backs like the legend Parkers going in elbow first into a grounded players jaw, nice bloke.

The section where Queensland racked up all the penalties was the best I have seen it refereed. The count only became so lopsided because Queensland kept giving NSW's free ball and most penalties are infringed by the defending team. The refs are way too lenient. Players get used to it and everyone complains when rules are actually enforced.
