Terrorist sympathisers like Anne Aly argue this wont work because it will further radicalise those already here. She reckons we should write nice letters to extremists instead and give them lenient sentences.

Ane Aly is just the ALP's token Muslim in Parliament.

Adds to the feel good factor. You know, that warm and fuzzy "oh look at me, I have Muslim friends type of feeling".

Can you source that rusty? Doubt it.

It's a bit like when Crusader claimed that it was in some muslim texts that they want to take over Australia. All I could find was stuff saying that it doesn't but then he didn't come back with any evidence. That would have 100% turned me on the issue.

Nothing like a tragedy to make everyone experts

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

You can't!

Just bias immigration policy towards countries with similar values and ideals as our own.

If Muslim countries can't counter radical Islam, then Australia has no chance.

One day you will find out but it will be too late.

Yeah I agree with this. My thinking has shifted over time.

No one is claiming to be an expert but you don't need a degree in political science to see the Islam is the problem. Bastardized interpretations or not.

Fundamental Christians, loopy as they are, aren't decapitating or setting fire to prisoners en masse.

Ok how about a simple question. Who gets to stay and who goes?

Our immigration policy should be heavily biased towards migrants from countries with similar ideals and way of life as our own.

For example, all EU countries, UK, Canada, USA etc etc.
What do you do to those that are already in those countries?

Simple. If they are American, EU, UK, or Canadian Citizens, then assess their applications fairly and interview them. If they have proven to integrate well in that society, then they should be able to integrate well in Australia. If they meet all the other criteria, have solid chances of employment etc, then let them in.
Pretty much all the perpetrators of the terrorist attacks in France have been EU citizens.

Hmm this question doesn't seem so simple now :-k

And pretty much all of them have been muslims.

Ban immigration from muslim countries and boot those out that aren't citizens and stop taking muslim refugees. There's countries in the middle east that haven't taken a single muslim refugee. Hypocrisy of the highest order.

I still say camps!

Forced labour camps in the desert
Get small groups of para military rounding everyone up of non EU/US/UK/CAN extraction
Put them all in a primary camp, get some sort of government agency created...let's call them a Gulag just for now, sort out the good from the bad, execute the bad, get some roads build by the good!

What's so difficult?

I don't think we should stop with muslims.

Can you believe there are people in this country taking advantage of our advanced economy by taking jobs and wealth from proud Australians? Buying up investment properties, negative gearing to the hilt to reduce their tax to provides and then plan to run off back to their "home country" when they retire even though they were born here? Some of them even believe in dictatorships!

Whether you agree with this or not. This will most likely be the situation in a few years.
If we get Trump running the US it will probably happen sooner.

A lot of rational people know that these small terrorist groups dont represent the whole of islam but at the same time these small groups are causing alot of death in its name.

If this was a disease outbreak killing people - first step would be containment. - Second step would be identifying - Third step would be searching for a cure.

OK a more serious question, almost all the recent terrorist attacks in Europe have been by second generation migrants. Kids that have grown up in these countries, gone to school etc. Sometimes their families are even well respected members of their communities. By stopping immigration now, what are we containing? For 20 years time? The world changes a lot faster than that.

It's terrible because I'm a descendant myself of immigrants.

Watching that 4 corners show was an eye opener. Here are these scum living under the noses of their hosts actively plotting against their 'countrymen' and laughing about how many people other terrorists have killed and how much they're looking forward to being involved.

Surely a country is allowed to be in control of their own borders?

OK a more serious question, almost all the recent terrorist attacks in Europe have been by second generation migrants. Kids that have grown up in these countries, gone to school etc. Sometimes their families are even well respected members of their communities. By stopping immigration now, what are we containing? For 20 years time? The world changes a lot faster than that.

Well the answer is not to let more of them in that's for sure.

Once the influx has stopped then you can start to address the ones left over. Mind you anyone with dual citizenship or an immigrant or a refugee should be punted as soon as they're convicted of any requisite crime.

That should be an explicit contract between the government and the would be citizen.
