Imagine Kruse as our right back? if he can sort of defend too then it would not be a bad option if he plays for his club side there.

He was played as LB recently IIRC.

Pity his tackle technique is to get a touch on the ball and then explode both achilles tendons.

neither of them can score goals anyway. no hurt them playing where they can rely on pace and crossing and nothing much else.

3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Horses for courses. When we're not thinking of using the aerial route, Krusey in the front three on the right (Rogic in the middle) and Leckie at right wing-back (with three central defenders as defensive cover, thus relieving our wing-backs of pressure).

When we're thinking of giving the aerial route a go from time to time, Timmy Cahill and Tom Rogic as strikers. Krusey or Leckie at right-wing back (with three central defenders as defensive cover, thus relieving our wing-backs of pressure).

And boy is that playing to our strengths. We have Krusey and Leckie as right wing-back options (with less defensive pressure than our right wing-backs currently face) and Smith, Gersbach and Goodwin as left wing-back options (with less defensive pressure than our left wing-backs currently face). They can all play that role wonderfully. All, but Leckie, are offensively rather promising (and Leckie can do well in attack when he has space). That's five decent options for two roles (which will involve high work-rates). And there's less defensive pressure, thus it accommodates them as they're all (except perhaps Leckie) not the strongest in defence. And all have blistering pace.

We could use that depth in a proper tournament very nicely in deed.

I can see Kruse moving to Stuttgart. They've had a massive cleanout and need players. Leverkusen want Jese from Real so Kruse will be even lower in the pecking order.

I guess they didn't know he could do a Scottish accent.
