If kruse does play as a wing back for Leverkusen still believe there is no way in hell Ange will play him there. His our best attacking mid field by far. Would be a stupid.

good to see rogic used as the point of a diamond/false 9 kind of slot. much better having 3 midfielders behind him. lets him take his foot of the gas and stay in the attacking 3rd. the dembele signing makes much more sense with this kind of formation. having rogic behind dembele and griffiths is a fairly massive attacking unit. also he is marking off the first pass out from defence which is a different job from holding the midfield.

the formation changes to a 4231 at about 75 mins with rogic in the middle of the 3 and dembele as the lone striker. but that might just be what they transition into in defence. barca was holding possession really well at this point.

i hope ange watches this. this is the kind of set up we need to get the most out of rogic and our limited forward options. would love to see rogic behind a maclaren and cahill setup.

Kruse has the height for fullback but he is a twig would much prefer leckie we would lose much more in attack without kruse we would lose very little in attack or defense if it was leckie who dropped back

Is that a 4312 then? Doesn't suit the rest of the team. Mooy is a more complete player than rogic. If rogic doesn't step up another level I can only see him being used as a sub, which is when he has the most impact.
