18,500 not including corporate seats, according to this:

No way.

The ends were actually relatively full and the side the tv cameras are on was much more full than the other side that u see on tv.

8k is avout right. It was about 1/4 full no doubt about it.

But i saw this coming days ago when we knew 4 games were effectively being played at home, the weather being utter shit and perth being the least attractive match up.

8k is a good crowd all things considered. This would have got less than 6k in any other season and circumstance.

Probably a fair a bit of truth in your comments.

Crowd looked about right. The ends were full enough. With storm crowds the sideline stands are where majority of crowd sits.

The fact they delayed so much to give the figure will leave question marks over it. Had it been a 15k crowd it would have been revealed by the 60th minute of the game. I think they cooked it by about a thousand.

This is Melbourne, AFL town, the AFL would've had their counters there too, so there would be no cooking the books.

14908 in Adelaide, fantastic.

It doesn't get much fuller than that. After the refurb to put in the red seats (they're more modern so slightly wider) capacity was reduced from 16,500 to about 15,800.
Services in the stadium were at breaking point last night. Mega queues for beer/food and would you believe queues for the Men's Dunnies!!

Cant believe that depite a 9 milion wage bill, cahill et all, previous weeks hype and derby win, population, stadium facilties, transport links, there was only 1k difference between city and ccm crowds. ASTONISHING. Seems to suggest that if other clubs from smaller cities could make a decent and competitive go at joining the  aleague , esp Canberra, woolongong, Geelong and perhaps Brisbane 2nd team.

Keep on filling it like the past two weeks and Adelaide United have a massive case to fill in the ends, upgrade the facilities and turn it into Australia's best 25k boutique venue.

I'm convinced for Wellington to survive they need to build a 10-15k stadium.

Melbourne numbers?

Victory twitter said we took 700 away to Adelaide, but it looks like a lot of Victory fans bought tickets from other areas once the away area sold out and just came in anyway.

Either way, great, great showing.

At the moment they have a 4 year extension with additional extensions under condition. They can be dropped in 4 years, 7 or 10. Not much incentive to build.

What they should do is bite the bullet and play at Hutt Recreational park. If it fits 9k with temporary seating, it cant cost that much to make it permanent. If they signe a deal to play 7-9 games a year there (no night games. They barely play any anyway) for 3 years they will (owners) probably do it for free.

We (a-league fans) are to precious about our stadium criteria. We are like a high maintenance girlfriend. It has to be this and that and blah blah blah......

Thise who complain about Ballymore, Hutt, Belmore, Kogarah, South Melbourne Stadium. Seriously, go to clubs like Everton, Milan and Chelsea. There holes. The only difference is that they are packed full of fans and have atmospheres out of this world.

If all clubs just played in suitable stadiums (hello SFC) it would be a much more atractive game day atmosphere.

belmore, liechardt and campbelltown all deserve packed crowds, their tv look does no justice to the game experience at the grounds when they rafters are full

There is no reason SFC cannot play at least five of their games a season at either Kogarah, Belmore or Liechardt. Belmore has the best Public transport link, Kogarah feels like a better home base and technically i thick Liechardt is central to Eastern Sydney.

Victory share their games between two stadiums, and if we want to really become the biggest club in the country, we need to have a similar approcah in my opinion.

So after three rounds, the only teams to give a higher attendance than Brisbanes first game was the two derbies.
