I know you are the eternal optimist with all these things (which is nice to see for a change on a forum like 442), but I can't see how it will be over 35k.

I don't live in Melbourne so I can't tell what the mood is like, has there been genuine interest talked about outside of the purist football circles? Because the kick off time of 8pm and the back to back factor of the Derby I would imagine would play a part. I will be seriously impressed and surprised if they get more than 35k imo.

I have seen internal FFA documents that predict a crowd of nearly 40,000. I'm not just optimistic. This is raw data.

Should get a strong turnout with half of Melbourne taking Friday off, ratings will probably die up against roger federer though.

Those FFA contacts u have are not doing a very good job with their estimates are they. 40k+ lol. Crowd number was almost underwhelming.

In saying that. Still a good crowd just way under what the fox team and some here were predicting. Seriously all their games bar maybe the derby should be played at AAMI. Not worth it for the extra 2-3k extra.

Also it could have been 35k+ if it had been played at 5pm rather than the ridiculius school night time of 8pm. Hope the ratings made it worth it. And in fact why were fox pushing for later start? All it did was create an overlap with the tennis which is just stupid.

Not back tracking at all you clown. I said it was underwhelming based on the predictions. Doesn't necessarily mean that the crowd itself was bad. 

The prediction was a firm 35k+and actually some even thought 42.5k and if you look back I was gobsmacked with the over hyped prediction. And I was correct.

I never stated that Sydney FC would get a bigger crowd.
