Lied to your face.

He didn't lie. He didn't open up about his private employment details to some random fan, either.

I can understand why he was coy.

Oh nah wasn't asking about the Williams thing I was asking where you got the Georgevski news from.

But yeah, he was a good fullback option, but definitely replaceable. Probably going to miss him more because he's such a cheeky c*nt.

Love Georgie, but we need a more consistent LB. Broxham's versatility means that we don't really need a specialist back up in that area.

Would love an Asian LB, last one in the league in Lee Ki Jee was very good and would slot in nicely with ACL.

This is a great idea. We need a LB regardless and an Asian one for the wage we'd pay and for ACL reasons would be fantastic.

those are my thoughts too. good servant, but not a massive loss. probably getting more coin than he deserves at the jets.

Wonder what plans Jason Davidson has next season?

I've received a return email from the FFA today - RE: international breaks as follows,

Hi Brenton,

Thank you for your email regarding the FIFA International break.

For clarification breaks in the Hyundai A-League are not observed for FIFA International Windows where National Team matches occur worldwide over a period of around 10 days.

Domestic club competitions are not obliged to observe such international breaks however these are commonly observed in some of the elite competitions worldwide which contain international standard players from a number of nations such as the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga among many others.

As the Hyundai A-League is a developing professional league by international standards it is important to balance the commercial factors (such as broadcast, sponsor, marketing and fan interests) with footballing considerations.

There are also a relatively low number of players who are called up for National Team duty across the Hyundai A-League during FIFA International Windows.

This is a policy that is reviewed on a year to year, and therefore may change in future years. However, such a change to our existing policy in this regard requires the agreement of a range of stakeholders, most importantly all Hyundai A-League clubs and our broadcast partners.

As our existing policy requires all Hyundai A-League teams to play through FIFA International Window, all clubs are treated equally in this regard.

In regards to the FIFA International Window in late March, Wellington Phoenix had 6 players called up to represent New Zealand and Fiji, while other Hyundai A-League clubs also had players called up during this period (e.g. Melbourne Victory as you have mentioned).

Australian based Hyundai A-League clubs also often have to deal with a number of players called up to Olyroos or Young Socceroos National Team duty which may either fall within, or outside of the FIFA International window.

Therefore, there are periods of time where Australian clubs may be without a number of first team players outside of this window.

I trust this is helpful and provides some insight in to the range of considerations associated with Hyundai A-League scheduling.

Huddersfield may want to loan him out again.

He ain't going to take Lowe's spot that's for sure. They got another young left back there too Dennis Holmes or something like that, not a bad young player. He'd be 3rd down the pecking order.

Top work by Ansell and Donachie tonight; Baro might have trouble getting his starting spot back.

Maybe with no Georgievski it'll be Brox to LB and Baro to DM for the Mariners game.

So was Geria injured or dropped completely on the weekend? I had a wedding and didn't catch any of the news / match commentary, but noticed he wasn't even named on the bench

At AAMI or Etihad?

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

He's on seven cheeses, but I'm not sure if he copped his ban for five before the cutoff.

If not, certainly worth giving the two young Aussies a chance to stake their claim.

No idea, I imagine the FFA have pencil bookings at both pending whoever we're playing against.

Docklands is only free on the Friday but AAMI Park is free all weekend,.

Of course, knowing their prior form, the FFA have probably cocked up and we'll have to go down to Kardinia Park.

then the situation of Western Sydney Wanderers & Brisbane Roar they have ACL Matchday 5 commitments on Wednesday April 26th in Japan and Thailand and don't get back til Friday April 28th they mentioned during the last ACL matchday fixture between both Kashima Antlers and Brisbane Roar also between FC Seoul and Western Sydney Wanderers saying that a possible semi final between Melbourne Victory and Brisbane Roar also Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers won't be at Etihad due to only getting back from their ACL away fixtures on Friday April 28th.

Etihad Stadium has been booked for a potential Melbourne Derby A-League semi-final blockbuster.

A mouth-watering Melbourne Victory-Melbourne City clash remains a real possibility heading into the final round of the regular season.

Melbourne Victory who will have the week off in week 1 ofthe Hyundai A-League Finals after playing host to Central Coast Mariners on Good Friday would almost certainly host any possible opponent at AAMI Park in the Hyundai A-League semi-finals.

Football Federation Australia which is in charge of finals scheduling said that many factors would be considered before the draw was released.

We are currently working through a whole range ofscenarios with finals football still possible for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth, A-League chief Greg O’Rourke said.

At this stage that there are too many possibilities to have concrete plans but we have numerous contingencies based on logistics including competing teams, venue availability, AFC Champions League commitments for Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers along with the selection of venues around Melbourne Derby, Sydney Derby and also non-derby games to ensure an exciting schedule for players, clubs and fans alike.

Third place Melbourne City is in the box seat to host a home elimination final at AAMI Park in the opening week of the finals needing just to avoid a four-goal loss away to fifth-place Perth Glory on Sunday.

Both teams will know the permutations as they play the final game of the round (kickoff at 7.00pm AEST on Sunday).

If Melbourne City faces Brisbane Roar or Western Sydney Wanderers in week one of the finals the game would be played on Friday Night or Saturdaynight with both facing Asian Champions League away fixtures on Wednesday April 26th.

A Melbourne City v Perth Glory rematch in the opening week of the Hyundai A-League finals would almost certainly be played on the Sunday afternoon.

Perth Glory is three points behind and can only secure a home final if they overtake Melbourne City or Brisbane Roar who host seventh-place Wellington Phoenix at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

Melbourne Victory hosts Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park with second spot and a week off in the opening round of the Hyundai A-League finals assured.

Melbourne Victory hosts the highest-ranked winner in the semi-final which would be Melbourne City if Mike Valkanis’ team finishes third and wins its first final.

If Melbourne City finishes fourth or fifth and wins its first final a Melbourne Derby semi-final would only happen if sixth-place upsets third-place.

Otherwise Melbourne City would travel to top-place Sydney FC which would most likely be played on Saturday week at Allianz Stadium.
