looked like a pretty impressive goal
to be honest when I look at us we look pretty good. I'm surprised though its not a flogging like the previous two games

you feel like finishing is the last piece of the puzzle for these boys. Really needs to be a huge focus on this for the next crop of youngsters.

Another good result, seen snippets of the game, some nice stuff should have been more.
Apparently, Ray Gatt tweeted something around that Tony Vidmar could get axed as the coach, and he will get replaced by a new coach for the qualifiers, he thinks its a result that the FFA COE isnt going to continue as its purely a cost cutting measure.....hopefully he can get a gig in the a-league.

Match report from last night: The scorers for Australia were: > Brodie Boyce (Queensland Academy of Sport). > Joshua Varga (Nunawading City). This was his second goal of the tournament. > Lachlan Sepping (Marconi Stallions). This was his second goal of the tournament, and he was also Man of the Match. > Luke Duzel (Melbourne City). > Noah Botic (Sydney Olympic). This was his third goal of the tournament. Also, every player in the squad has now played at least one game this tournament, and of the 12 players that are listed in midfield or forward positions, only one is yet to score.

5-0 is pretty good from what I saw. This team we played offered little in attack (or perhaps we didn't let them offer much) but were defensively stronger than the other minnows we have played

Budget cuts must be big at the FFA. I did some searching around and it seems the Olyroos have already flown out to Myanmar for the qualifiers with their first match against Brunei on Wednesday at 6.30pm aest. No final squad list was announced except for the 26 man squad that had to training matches against wsw and ccm.

At this rate we are going to have all 3 teams miss out on world cup/olympics again...reap in what you sow FFA
What kind of organisation makes so many funding cuts like what the FFA have done recently....must be about trying to find as money as they can so they keep the a-league clubs quiet whilst they keep power of the a-league.
This new 'funding' model better work lol

Interesting that Nizic and Glover made the trip around the world to play, as did the elusive Milislav Popovic who looks to be at a new club.

Maybe 3-6-1/3-5-2, shouldn't backfire to much against Brunei, Singapore and Myanmar. Get them used to the system if they aren't already Izzo Tongyik Deng Aspro Kamau Calletti McGree Mauk Nigro Arzani Buhagiar Lots of strength in the middle in this squad

I was looking through the squad and think I'm going mad because I can't see any. Agree with the lineup though.

Bit of a shame because natural width and crossing is important in a 3-6-1 with so many in the middle. Hopefully they're strong on both feet

Gersbach is eligible so I suspect he'd be there if he wasn't currently trying to nail down the LB role at his club. Not sure why Scott Galloway wasn't included considering he's been with them throughout. If we had every player available I imagine the team would look like this: As with the senior team, the midfield is definitely the strongest point for us. And sadly, our attacking options at youth level aren't looking great either.

Buhagiar, Kamau, and Arzani are promising options who could be near the senior team if they continue their rate of growth, but definitely agree that we don't have a striker that screams "first name on the team sheet" which is a shame, and something that has plagued us for a long, long time

Not sure the junior teams necessarily need to go 3 at the back, just because Ange is. For all we know Ange could change his mind 3 times before next June. I would expect they will follow the formation these guys have used throughout their time in the junior ranks.

If full strength i would go a step further with Hrustic on the right wing/back position, i dont think gersbach will take part again hes already part of the senior team P.S How do you put lineup builder onto here? http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=f0wy6
