Based on this I thought they had decent claims for HAL inclusion. A game against Sorrento in the biggest comp for any NPL club in Australia draws such small crowds at SM. Tasmania draws much bigger crowds for games against mainland clubs. 1300 was considered a dismal failure for Olympia v APIA compared to 2 500 for the state FFA Cup Final between Olympia and Knights. > 7 Degrees & windy > Pissing down before kickoff > Playing a team from WA nobody gives a fuck about > Victree also playing on same night, albeit away but still I think if they were playing an old NSL rival like SU58 or Olympic the crowd would have been different Also the only reason Tas gets crowds is because you get 1 entrant in the cup meaning everyone rallies around the 1 club instead of splitting attendances between 4-5 clubs always some sort of excuse What's Adelaide's excuse for drawing 3k against Victree? In 2 months that game is a sell out Marden- only has 3k capacity. :laugh: They moved it there because they knew they would get a shit crowd, it was intentional.

Why would AU vs Victree get a shit crowd? Isn't it supposed to be one of the great rivalries of the A League? Always gets a great crowd in the A League. Must be something wrong with the FFA Cup concept, with its "small local grounds" obsession.

Rightly or wrongly, seems there's a lot of people pretty pissed with the club at turning over the squad the way they have and it's going to take a bit of effort and time to drag them back.
