Should be a big round 2 with crowds but won't.
BR vs Adelaide - sub 10k (will be potentially pissing down, ticket sales look non existent.)
WSW vs CCM - 11k (again, raining)
Jets vs Perth - 12k (free ticket promo and ok weather should see ok crowd)
Melb Derby - 35k
SFC vs Nix - 11k

I reckon the Melb Derby should be getting in the 40s, but you're right, probably will get 35k

Can't argue with any of your numbers

City v Roar - 10k
Mariners v Jets 10.5k
Victory v SFC - 27k
Nix v Adel - 7k
WSW v Glory - 12k

Total = 66.5k

Wow I was off by 200. Pretty good. I was too lenient with the Big Blue. Surprised they got under 25k.

I thought the Gosford crowd was great and it shows what clubs can do if they take marketing into their own hands. It also looked like more than 12 000, I really can't see how you fit another 10 000 in.

The Wanderers game also was either more or GWS massively inflate their numbers.

12k tickets for Jerks v Perth confirmed through memberships and free tickets, apparently giving away more, could get 15-16k

This means we can't bag the AFL when they do it.

Nothing wrong with giving free tickets away, especially early in the season. Good idea if they target junior clubs too. We need a good attendance this weekend as I suspect the others will disappoint.

Free tickets kill off walkups though. If someone intended to go but can't get a free ticket they don't want to be the guy that got stooged and paid while nobody else did

Apparently almost 5000 free tickets have been taken up by Jets fans.
I think it's a great initiative and building on the good vibes their recieving this week.

I remember when the Jets turned it all around in season 2, they got a low of around 5,000 with Nick T's side and by the end of the season they drew 18k against the Victory. Perhaps a few more solid performances and we can see the club reach it's ceiling.

Every time I have been to a match at Gosford I have turned up about 15 minutes before kick off. I have always been waved through the turnstiles or let in via a gate. That is my tix have never been scanned.

In all honesty with the total lack of promotion for the A-league in our media, not to mention no real big name signings I think the crowds we get are pretty good.
Unfortunately I don't see football in this country being promoted in mainstream media like all the other codes, but if it were to happen one day, not to mention most clubs signing big name marque players, I really think we would easily jump up into second spot just behind AFL for crowd numbers.
I just wish more clubs who play in either oversized stadiums and or AFL/Cricket stadiums look into better more suitable choices in future which I believe would grow crowds further or at the very least make for good viewing both at the games and at home.
As a WSW fan I must admit I struggle to motivate myself to go watch football at spotless or ANZ Stadium which makes me feel for Wellington fans knowing that's their home ground all year every year.

WSW (or someone) must be getting a fabulous deal at Spotless - there'd be no other reason to use that place over, say, Pemriff. Syd-n-e FC are locked into SFS for ever it seems.

They would be getting a good deal and I've also heard that Penrith council doesn't want us playing there, which explains why all FFA Cup games are played at Campbelltown. Only a rumour though so I'm not 100% certain on that.
But either way we have 16k members and better off those two options have that many seats at their ground meaning thousands of members would have to be moved to the hill.  With that in mind I think we've got no choice but to play at Spotless and ANZ Stadium.
Hopefully it'll only be two more seasons because I'd hate to hear the new stadium is behind schedule meaning we'd have to play there a 4th season.

It wasnt too long ago that the Jets were averaging 12-13k. Newcastle would definitely get behind a successful side, especially with the Knights being rubbish for so long.

12 months ago that Sydney FC crowd on a Sunday night vs Wellington would been 8000-8500 at best. Progress...
Great numbers at Newcastle too, they saw a decent game, hopefully a few of those on free tix come back, they've got a decent side to watch this year
