Have to attest that it's not hard to build fitness in mid-late twienties. What really changed things for me was running. I would do a ton of running before the preseason started, especially long runs. It got me a good base and instead of being one of the worst in preseason I was one of the best. Then never looked back.

Also I think rogic is mainly just really lazy. I think it's an attitude thing.

+xgersbah got a dozen minutes at right back that's interesting, would be keen to see how he went. Does he have much of a right foot?

Gersbach's competition defended poorly for the first goal. The other two goals were a bit freakish. Gersbach really needs to be started. I can't recall him being particularly poor for Rosenborg.

+x+x+xAnnoying as this is the lack of fitness and fading in and out of games that were the main flaws in his game back when he was at the Mariners. If he wants to get to the top either he himself or someone close to him should have had him working on it or one or then Celtic coaches he’s had. Players can reinvent themselves and become much stronger and/ or fitter in one offseason with the right work and it’s something I think everyone here has been hoping he’d for for a while. Whilst that may even stunt a bit of his technical growth it’ll make him a far more rounded and appealing player to have in your squad. At the moment he’s really what you’d call a luxury player. If a player of Rogic's age suddenly had a massive increase in endurance I would be thinking something other than just hard work. Crap. Just crap. When I was in my early 20s at uni i was a smoker. Then I worked in transport for 3 years and after slogging 70 hour weeks in that caper my body whittled away to nothing. I got on a bicycle and could bearly ride 5 metres without collapsing. 2 years later I completed the Canberra marathon. The furthest I had ever run in my life was as a teeanger and wasn't even 1km from memory. We would go 5k trials at school and conk it on the first corner. LOL. I find it hard to believe you really think your story has any relevance to what I said. You were not a professional sportsman, you were not being trained to be at your physical best, you were just unfit and then became fit. A huge difference.

I think we need to stop putting our faith in Gersbach. There's something wrong if you can't nail down a regular starting spot in Norway. If he went to the PL, I seriously doubt he'd do any better than Smith. So he had a couple of solid games for the socceroos. Big deal. Smith has had a couple of solid games for Australia himself.

Actually the difference between being a smoker and marathon runner is larger than the difference between running out 60 minutes and 90 minutes of a game. And yeah, it's relevant. Btw while you're shitting on an athlete's "fitness" you might want to read up on the soft tissue injuries Rogic has had and how they are managed. If you think groin injuries are solved by running more then that's one of likely a few other reasons why you're not a physio

The faith is there as he's done little wrong whenever he gets on the pitch. His positioning against Cameroon was miles ahead of anyone else and we had so much extra on attack. He also won the penalty. For such a young player it's just too exciting to ignore. The coach obviously favours his Norwegian competitor, who has 4 years of experience in Germany. Being second at a club like Rosenborg at that age isn't bad. Hedenstad's chances to impress are hopefully running low and we'll see Gersbach more time soon.

If you think groin injuries are solved by running more then that's one of likely a few other reasons why you're not a physio Doping would be the most common reason why a highly trained athlete makes a big physical improvement at Rogic's age or later. I am not saying it always the case but if Rogic suddenly started running and running and running all game I would be thinking he is doping. To be quite frank I would not be surprised if he was doping already. Not saying he is but doping is so prevalent in sport it is highly unlikely some of the golden generation did not dope.

Beadling starting, Sunderland U23 v Everton U23
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Darmstadt down already. Düsseldorf on absolute fire this term. Promotion very likely.

Down 1-0 at the 66th minute, Maclaren one of two attackers on the bench (as far as I can tell), but the two subs used so far have been their number 6 and a defender.
First one was after half time though so probably a good reason to be fair.

Fuck Frings. He plays a centre mid on the wing to then sub him for a washed up veteran and starts some 19 year old American who has had minimal pro experience and subs him at the half. Plus he starts Platte who has only a handful of pro games. Meanwhile Sobiech is on the bench while will likely keep Maclaren from even touching the pitch.

The recent contingent haven't stayed around that long compared to say 3 years ago. You're not a German club unless you have a Japanese player.

Came on in the 77th or so minute with Dusseldorf up 1-0 and comfortably keeping possession, so far he's been using his fitness and fresh legs to defend from the front.

+x"Gegen rechts" on the kits, lol jeez. Ryan starts away to West Ham. Need at least a point from this one. The worst Germans are the ones who say the past has nothing to do with their generation and then tie me to being responsible for aboriginal issues. They say this within 30 seconds. Ummm what? I agree in the sense that the constant guilt driving is stupid. The paranoia for anything sensible in regards to proper migration or anti terror being seen as racial profiling is embarrassing and defies logic.
