I think Rogic should only be used for the last 20 as an impact player in the away leg. We need our best defensive XI out there and that probably includes the likes of Irvine, luongo, jedinak, mooy and troisi moreso than rogic.
Also we need him fresh for the home leg I reckon

+xOn topic, I like discussing our formation, best team, players, etc... Don't find it boring. I normally think mooy is best in the centre but with us missing a lot of attacking talent it may be better to have him forward, but having both him and rogic forward has not worked out well before. Great topic. Do you think Ange will play 3 at the back?

My goalkeeper of choice is Brad Jones. It will be a shame if he wasn't in the starting line up.

Play Timmy there, his dodgy ankle won't diminish his Goalkeeping ability , plus he can come up for any corners and free-kicks into the box

+x+xMy XI for Away: Am I the only one here who finds people posting their preferred starting 11 the most uninteresting and pointless discussion on the 442 forum? It's not even fantasy league, it's pointless. You are the only one I have seen express this stupid view.

I'm sorry if I have gotten bored of the same conversation before every single qualifying game, friendly and Confederation Cup game. For the last two years, the formation has been the same and the team selections have not varied significantly and the endless posts discussing very similar lines ups in the same formation are not that interesting. Maybe if we qualify for the World Cup, we can discuss who will be picked in the 23 man squad but either way, it will be 3 at the back and a pretty similar line up compared to the last two games.

That makes a huge difference... for our players already sitting on a yellow, Jedinak, Rogic, Juric, Luongo, Jackson Irvine, Degenek and a few others, instead of pulling out of a 50-50 challenge, they could fully commit to challenges in the away game

I would guess, though, that that would favour the home team, as their supporters are more likely to get in the ear of the officials.

In defence of..myself...I agree that it's pointless (albeit interesting and I still read them!) posting suggested lineups that feature players not even in the squad, in a thread that is specifically about a certain match. That said, when discussing upcoming squads, players that should be in the roos, etc. then it's great to see people's thoughts as I know heaps of people on here watch way more games than I do and have their ears on the ground as to who is performing, in form and so on. I was agreeing but not agreeing. Anyway, the best part about these forums is all the differing opinions!

Feeling excited and nervous and it's only Monday. Can't believe the Rugby League world cup is live on German TV but no channel will show the match here it seems.

NZ Peru is on Bein Sports USA. Can't find our game on any Bein page. Here's to hoping the AFC stream it.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Tom Smithies has an article saying 50 000 tickets sold for Anz stadium leg with ffa expecting 65 000. Pleasantly suprised tbh.
