+xHonduras are bog average. It's disrespectful to our players to have to be on the same pitch. Predicting 8-0 on the return leg, which will probably require about 70 shots on goal. Going by our averages it'll be 80.

With Elis returning fresh and probably flying business class we simply can't be complacent.

Just got home to catch the end.. Summary seems to be we dominated just couldn't put one away? The highlights looked liked Juric missed a couple sitters.
How did we set up? How was Irvine, Jedinak and Luongo?
Whoever left the catcher off the mower needs to be sacked.

+x+xWe played pretty damn well. I still love watching this team under ange, fingers crossed we qualify and he stays. Weirdly everything started to fall apart when rogic came on. also sainsbury is pretty close to being our best defender ever, just needs a couple of seasons at a top club. He is truly a premier league level defender Yeah, he clearly is a very high quality defender, our best ever is a big call but he has to be right up there as far as ability. Needs to find a club where he can play every game,

The midfield was absolutely brilliant, we were a bit more direct and Jedinak sitting in front of the back 3 made us very solid. Honduras only looked dangerous the last 10 minutes when the heat and humidity got to us.

Same as the league, why are nab paying these rich cnts $1000 for mom? Every player should link to a grass roots club and it goes to them.

I think the away leg will actually suit Honduras more. Theyll be able to sit back and hit us on the counter when we inevitably overcommit in attack. That said happy enough with the result and the performance. Really should be going back with an away goal. In terms of setup for the next game youd imagine Leckie comes in. Other than that Id be tempted not to change but playing back to back 90s with big travel youd imagine thered be a few changes

Well done boys. Would have taken 0-0 before the game but in the end we could have won and nobody could complain. Watching the Socceroos and Adelaide United is so painful in the number of good chances we waste.

Jedinak definitely an asset and had maybe 4 poor passes in non critical situations. His aerial dominance and sweeping we prime. Irvine was busy off the ball and in the air. He had a volley go way over the bar and was buggered and came off for Rogic. A decent run out and pressured Honduras from playing out.

This does put into perspective how much tougher Asian qualifying is. Honestly reckon Thailand would absolutely thump Honduras at home.

Honduras were perhaps so cocky and then got shaken up and seemed to have no plan. They normally get smashed away but drew in Costa Rica. Their win against Mexico saw them score comical goals. A really confusing bunch.

Not a big fan of Behich but he had a terrific game, I'd be dissapointed if he didn't start in the home leg. Bailey Wright and Risdon our weak links today.

A really confusing bunch. Based on that performance my only concern is complacency, which the roos seem to have in bucketloads.

bridges and moore going on about our great performance. i thought we were awful, dour. couldn't score in a brothel and can't make a decent cross to save ourselves. our gameplan is keep the ball and do nothing with it so the other team can't score. we create nothing going forward and our quality up front is so bad.

Actually feeling good about the home game now, and with Jedi there sweeping in front of the back three I'm even happy about that, it's actually kinda working now. Behich had a very good game but I'm looking forward to seeing Leckie and Kruse let loose on the wings against this lot. Having Jedi back in midfield and Milligan back from suspension gives us the ability to play Milligan instead of one of our non-Sainsbury defenders in the back three too, which is a bonus. Ryan Milligan - Sainsbury - Someone Jedi Luongo - Mooy Irvine Leckie - Juric - Kruse With Rogic and Timmy to come on in the last half hour and put away any goals we hadn't gotten already. I'd also put on Behich and move Kruse to Irvine's position if he's not as useful there, but we need his crosses I think.

Ange needs to coach well We really deserved to win that away leg.. but now that we did not, Ange being too confident/aggressive at home could be our undoing Just be patient, keep it tight at the back and chances will come. Making it a shootout is not what we want

I'S not like it's the first time Honduras have been woeful but they definitely took no initiative today. Honduras only qualify and get good results due to their home advantage and absolutely dirty tactics which just don't work away from home. Maybe in similar quality pitches and countries they can perform decent enough away from home, but on a decent pitch like against the USA no wonder why they lost 6-0.
