+x+xJuric has to learn to head the ball down. Cahill wouldn't have made the same error. Thought Australia played overall much more positive in this game then the others. The pitch looked very heavy underfoot which wouldn't have helped. Did see a lot more 'go forward' from Australia in this game. Not your usual backwards and sideways rubbish we've seen in the last 10 matches. Interesting stat I heard on the commentary that Australia hadn't one a game o/s in over a year. Is that right? Didn't we beat Cameroon at the Confed Cup?? nop

I am old so this type of technology is really awesome for me. Could someone tell the pilot to turn left and dodge the yellow plane on the right.

replay here
mooy uncharacteristicly weak the last 20 minutes but the defence was strong as you would expect with that line up. The finishing of course let us down but the result puts us in a good position hondurus haven't traveled well getting only one decent result (1-1 draw in costa rica) away from home. Of course if they repeat that result we are out hopefully we match canada, mexico and usa's effort and beat them 3-0/3-0/6-0

+x+x+x+x+xbridges and moore going on about our great performance. i thought we were awful, dour. couldn't score in a brothel and can't make a decent cross to save ourselves. our gameplan is keep the ball and do nothing with it so the other team can't score. we create nothing going forward and our quality up front is so bad. You mus have been watching another game. Yes our finishing leaves lots to be desired but we created enough clear chances to win 2-0 at least. We pressured them in defence, so all they could do all match was kick it long (you could hear their own crowd moaning at how poor they were playing ... that was down to the Aussie pressure). Midfield ran the game, Mooy, Irvine and Luongo held the ball up brillantly ... some good combinations with the wingers. I'd say because we didn't really play any goal scorers other than Juric may have cost us some goals, but also may have saved some goals being scored. I think Ange expected more from Honduras, and personally so did I. clearly we didn't create enough to be "at least" 2-0...because look at the score board. same crap the commentators said. we had 3 good chances. One was the little dink from luongo, one was the ball across by risdon and the 3rd was jurics pathetic shot that he only got because the defender fell over. So really thats 2 good chances in 90 minutes of football where you have about 90% possession. thats really really poor. its awful to watch, this is the most unwatchable socceroos i've ever seen. Juric had two good chances, one the bobble, and two the header, furthermore he over ran a cross that would 've been a tap in. I am sick of hearing "we created chances'', our execution in front of goal is woeful, and 1 away goal may sink us. I don't think it's going to happen but we should have got more out of this game. Unfortunately we just have no quality striker apart from Tim Cahill, and what happens when he retires...Blame the FFA for their failed Dutch experiments and getting rid of Scheinflug and Blanco from our junior set up..... we have good strikers who can score goals. juric is clearly not one of them. Ffs who? Please dont say Maclaren or Taggart. Juric is the best of a very ordinary bunch.

+xDoesn’t anyone know any stats about the first game being 0-0 and what are the chances and stuff like that? There have been 8 world cup play offs in history with a 0-0 result in the first game. Out of those, the first home team has only qualified twice, so history's on our side!

We play as good as a top 20 team apart from positioning in defence (which means leaking goals but not recently) and missing easy chances

+xStopping in Hawaii for a re-fuel then direct to SYD. I wonder why Hawaii, it's north of SPS, Fiji is almost straight as the crow flies and would have made for much less distance. The plane is an Airbus A330 which has a range of 13,450 km. SPS to Sydney is just out of reach at 13,776 km. Fiji is well within range at 10,925 km. Although now I think of that is occurs to me SPS to Sydney direct is within range of other QANTAS planes, why not use one of those?

Trent Sainsbury is one of the best defenders of the last 20 years for Australia, he should have gone to Ajax or PSV and not choose for easy money in China. Mile Jedinak was for me personally man of the match, a quit character but his presence on the field with other players and the referee boosted the teams performance. My praise is also going to Juric, he was a annoying handful for the defenders of Honduras and gave Australia the change to bring in other players to dictate the game.

Impossible i was told 0-0 is the worst possible result, a good 2-0 loss is better as we know what to do in the game.

If we include the two gold cups in that time as well it becomes 2 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses with their wins being against French Guinea and Trinidad. They really are like a middle eastern team and hopefully we can do to them what we do to the rest of Asia at home and that is to win.

+xTeam is on Hawaii now. Flight radar is a fun website. They'll be landing in a few minutes. If you hit 3D mode you can watch the plane land with real satellite view graphics of the ground, and on some planes the actual real life paint, it's like playing a game, but with real people!
