+xI am old so this type of technology is really awesome for me. Could someone tell the pilot to turn left and dodge the yellow plane on the right. If you click on each flight you can see its altitude etc and see the planes have quite a distance from each other. I believe the site is powered by hobbyists with transponders. You rarely get a signal over most of the oceans but the planes reappear soon enough. My parents plane disappeared just before landing once.

+x+xTeam is on Hawaii now. Flight radar is a fun website. They'll be landing in a few minutes. If you hit 3D mode you can watch the plane land with real satellite view graphics of the ground, and on some planes the actual real life paint, it's like playing a game, but with real people! I've never tried 3d. This is the closest I'll become to being an air traffic controller. It's always interesting to see how many planes are around Sydney in the morning peak for flights home. If you can land before all those USA and Asia planes when flying from Dubai, you can hopefully beat the crowds and get through.

What itinerary did Honduras get do you reckon? The flight from SAP to Mexico City was at 7pm. Too soon after the match for them. We didn't get off until just before 10pm. I reckon they're on SAP-SAL-LAX-SYD

Cleared to land by ATC
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Airport code is HNL. Ironic because we haven't brought any Croatian league players?

Had someone tell me the different itineraries don't make a difference. For anyone who has flown such distances, those flights take a lot of out you.

About half way home. Hopefully they have the opportunity to stretch out while in Honolulu.
The LAN flight that took off from Auckland 2hrs ago which might have the all whites or peru onboard looks lonely AF. Has the whole south pacific ocean to itself.

I think the Kiwis are staying an extra day or two. Anecdotally they felt a rare bit of time at home with friends and family was a better motivator than extra time in Peru.

Yeah those ones are always very lonely and appear to have nearly nowhere to land.

+xTrent Sainsbury is one of the best defenders of the last 20 years for Australia, he should have gone to Ajax or PSV and not choose for easy money in China. Mile Jedinak was for me personally man of the match, a quit character but his presence on the field with other players and the referee boosted the teams performance. My praise is also going to Juric, he was a annoying handful for the defenders of Honduras and gave Australia the change to bring in other players to dictate the game. Juric makes a world of difference to our game plan. The pressure he provides in the oppositions defensive line, prevents them from really developing any confident offense other than counter.

Just general logistics really. Refuelling takes a bit plus pilots need to do their administration. 4am saw no other flights except shuttles to other islands in Hawaii. ETA 12:30. If I picked the right itinerary, Honduras should be departing around now.

I would like to see australias goals per minute when he is on verse cahill. His finishing is amongst the best we have but still very poor but cahill finishes a lot of opportunities and creates a lot for himself but we seem to have less routes to goal when he is playing In any case its nice that we can finally play without cahill but I'm curious whether we are stronger with or without him

interestingly cahills best years for us were 2014 and 2015 when I would have expected him to decline a bit

African qualifications are done. Tunisia and Morocco make returns as do Egypt. Nigeria and Senegal are the non North African sides. Ghana, Cameroon and Algeria miss out.
This is a tournament I would hate to miss. Lots of new and interesting opponents.

http://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/2018-world-cup-playoff-socceroos-left-scratching-their-heads-after-draw-20171111-gzjc9k.htmlarticle about the penalty.. the commentators praised the ref at the end of the match. i thought it was a bizarre ref performance tbh, he had some really weird aggressive attitude going on. and wtf was with ending the first half before time about?

Yeah I wondered about the clock. Perhaps his official time keeping was ahead of the TV and stadium systems. Only a guess. The next game will see a different ref. I found he blew anything that hit us. Another ref might have let play go and then Honduras would have had space.

I was thinking that. To keep things even and consistent it should be the same ref

Reading the reaction from both sides we definitely blew a good opportunity. Looking at Switzerland with their 1:0 win in Belfast shows how insanely valuable a win would have been. A few days is a long time in football. We know a lot more now and it's going to be a game we must control and we'll likely need some patience.
