I'd rather see Risdon retain his spot along with Behich and Leckie replace Irvine. If Jedinak is fit he plays, Milligan to replace him later if we need. Rogic has to start.
Ryan Wright - Sainsbury - Jurman Risdon - Jedinak - Mooy - Behich Rogic - Leckie Juric
Luongo, Milligan, Cahill off the bench.

Worth factoring in Honduras have two players returning. Alberth Elis will play on their right and is considered their best player and a tricky winger. They also have Maynor Figueroa coming back in defence. Thats two huge ins for them which makes you think they'll be tighter in defence and better in attack.

I think a lot will come down to how some players have pulled up ... is Jedinak right to start?? I think he is key to our mid / def to start with, esp. would assume Honduras going to go long at least until they are forced to attack us (i.e. go a goal down). I thought Luongo did really well in San Pedro Sula ... might depend on set up for starters. No way will Juric start ahead of Cahill ... even if Cahill can only last a half you have to give him the start and hope he scores. Australia need an early goal.

+x+x+xOnly a friendly but Argentina lead Nigeria 2:0 and lost 4:2 while Russia fought back to make it 2:2 against Spain and currently its 3:3. Roos, nothing is to be taken for granted at all. Football van be a cruel game. Focus and win. Is it 8pm yet? So nervous. Cant think or do anything today. Yep, me being here at work is completely pointless.

After the last match I felt really confident but I keep having flashes of dread over a 1-1 scoreline.

Newcastle NPL leading the way with ET goals not having the away goal count as double, which I reckon is the way it should be everywhere.

Prediction: Australia 2-0, easy win even though Honduras have their best two attacking and defending players back. Honduras are not a quality side at all and provide zero dangers if Australia are on their game as they were on Saturday morning. The one way they could somehow score, is the long ball and pace approach that prove to not work at their home ground. Jedinak should start if Australia want to start off good.

Reminder: 76k are coming to the game and next door is the Drake concert. At least 120k people will be in the area, so plan ahead.

Jedinak should start if Australia want to start off good. If that didn't work on their paddock where the ball would hold up, it sure as hell won't work here where the ball will skip on. Only danger is that if the ball does skip on it allows their wingers more space to run onto the ball.

Every Sydney FC supporter I know thought we'd smash the Mariners because theyre shit. Then we lost 2-0. Lets not count our chickens before they hatch.

+xEvery Sydney FC supporter I know thought we'd smash the Mariners because theyre shit. Then we lost 2-0. Lets not count our chickens before they hatch. Admittedly the Mariners have shown offensively they had plenty to offer ... it was always their defense that was the weakness. Honduras didn't show much in offense or defense in San Pedro Sula (Leckie and Kruse will carve them apart if they play like they did there ... it all depends if we can put the ball in the "old onion bag"). But different game at home ... let's hope we step up!

Point isn’t mariners and Honduras play the same. Point is more when people think one sides win is given it doesn’t mean to say that they will win. I’m sure everyone has not ever watched Honduras play once and have already made definitive conclusions about their play. They’ll have two of their best players back. I’m sure they’ll be better though I hope they’ll be worse. Just more everyone taking a win for granted is a bit crazy.

The point of the away goal rule is to balance out home ground advantage and to discourage the away team from parking the bus the whole game.
Both of those apply just us much in extra time as they do in regular time.

Also the problem is that there is no extra time in the first leg, so the away team in the second leg never gets that advantage.
