BTW For those among us who like switch things around a tad I have been using the following site for a few years now for MLS data... see link for MLS data ... http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/usa-major-league-soccer-2017/1 you have options to change the year and play offs etc... The site covers all major leagues including ours.... but it has a very interestings option you can look at a sides home crowds and away crowds... This is the A-League link... and its interesting to see who are the sides who draw the best away crowds... it defaults to home crowds but you can also click away crowds ... BTW this is one of my favourite Football sites... http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/aus-a-league-2017-2018/1/If interested I hope you enjoy... BTW it also has a all time table of NSL & A-League table that's interesting to have a boo peep at ... its over on the right hand side...

No it was originally scheduled for today (22 Nov) but was bumped because of the Mstildas match. The only time the FFA Cup final was played on a weekend was when Melb Vic played Perth Glory

13,500 in Sydney. Where they just putting them on one stand? It looked a lot more. If they had done that then they need to do every week it looked good on TV.

There's no meaning to winning the FFA cup. The only thing the winner gets is a bit of money which they can't spend on players anyway The AFC have tried to add meaning to national cups by giving the winner a spot in the ACL which not all confederations do But #WeAreDifferent The FFA would much rather double dip with the A League

+xFFA Cup Final13,452 Source: FFA Twitter In a city of ~4 million plus, hang your heads in shame
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

The FFA Cup should 100% be on a Saturday night as a prime time fixture.
Gives both sets of fans & families the ability to get to the fixture without work/school the next day. I get you would have to reschedule some domestic clashes to a weekday but we need this cup to become as big as it can. Weather they set the round as a rolling fixture (the afl does this for the last round) and when sides get knocked out of the cup in the round of 32 or 16 they can lock in dates for this round. Being played on a Tuesday night makes it impossible to get a large crowd.

The FFA Cup Final should be played on a Saturday night, in prime time. Make that date or weekend a Carnival of Football, no matter where it’s played. Maybe play the final of the National NPL as a curtain raiser to the Cup Final, or have the Matildas play beforehand, or the young Socceroos. Give the A-league the week off.

Newcastle v Melbourne - 8427 (source HAL website)
Fairly strong for a Thursday
Hoping the Newcastle crowds can get a run on like they've done a couple of times in their history. They're a sleeping giant (but always have been).

Less big city traffic and more country bumpkin time in the day to attend football on a week night.

Newy also has a massive weekend this week with the V8 Supercars race in the City (which I believe is why they moved this game to the Thursday). Id imagine theres a fair few people who may have came along with the Jets current form that would have given this week a miss because they have a big weekend planned

What is with these Thursday games the last two weeks? Bizarre scheduling. I mean I'd understand its part of getting regional games a ratings boost if they'd had them since the start of the season but they haven't.

+xA lot of them will be going back too. Indeed, if they keep playing this way the crowds will increase in big numbers, happy for their fans.

I mean I'd understand its part of getting regional games a ratings boost if they'd had them since the start of the season but they haven't. The Thursday night games are due to the W League being part of the A League fixturing The reason we have Thursday night and Sunday evening games is so women can play in 40 degree temperatures as part of double headers If there was any sense the W League would have its own scheduling and have every game broadcasted on a separate Fox channel. That way it can have better scheduling and games during oppressive heat can be held back. Or the W League itself can kick off in winter because there really isn't a point having it kicking off in October Just part of spreading the metrics obsession to other areas of the game
