The W-League coach would do a better job than Aloisi. Time to wind the Roar up and bring Brisbane City in!

Well we just got the whole Aloisi has the full backing of the board statement. So it can't be long now.

Although you'd imagine that we'll have to have locked up the wooden spoon before the Bakries pay out his contract. Maybe they'll just fire him and not pay him out for 3 years.

In response to the little bit of BS after Friday’s game there will be an open training session at Ballymore tomorrow morning (24th) starting at 0800 with player signings and a Q&A where questions can be asked to any player, coach or administrator. A little acknowledgement that fans/club aren’t united and that things have to change.

If Aloisi had just won a championship I could understand the club showing some lenience ... but obviously things work ar$e about at Brisbane.

I asked David Pourre about the difference between Mulvey’s start and Aloisi’s start; one got fired, the other a “vote of confidence”. The difference I’m told is that Mulvey had lost the dressing room whereas Aloisi hasn’t.
Now the open training session tomorrow includes a Q&A section where anyone (fan) can ask anyone (players, coaches, admins) any question they like .... I have to be there tomorrow but if anything nes not going and has a burning question let me know and i’ll ask it and publish the answer in the RSF FB page and website afterwards.

@Waz, My question is...JA said recently in as many words ,that he was planning for the future. The obvious question is how does that equate with half his squad on the wrong side of 30 and staring at retirement. Then compare that with a team like the Jets who have recruited much younger players, including some of ours and who have climbed from last place last year to second and double our points this year.
JA ,Please Explain this planning for the future. Then if he can explain his style of play Is it play out from the back all the time? Is it play passes slowly, waiting for space to appear? Is it try difficult low percentage passes forward to the striker? ....To me it seems like play it out from the back unless pressed ,then lump it long to the striker, who in most cases wont get the ball.In other words against top teams ,dont take risks and give them the ball.If we get the ball up front make it up as you go as to how to beat the defence.

Thanks Crimson
I’ve added those to the list:
1. John, you say you are “building for the future” how do you reconcile that with so many players over 30?
2. John, there are 19 players off contract season - why is that number so high?
3. David, are there any outstanding player payments either salary or suppa to the current squad?
4. John, we’re bottom of the disciplinary table having won the fair play award 6 Times in the past. Is fair play important to you?
5. John, fans are confused over what style you are trying to achieve... is it 3-at-the-back? Possession based? Counter attacking? How would you describe your ideal “Roar Way”?
6. John, the reason we’re all here today is that fan discontent with the current situation boiled over on Friday night. What do you say to disgruntled supporters?
7. David, is the club up for sale or not?
8. John, the transfer window opens in a few days time, are there any plans to bring new players in?
9. John, in terms of planning the squad for next season - what more do you need from the club to make sure you have the strongest possible squad for next season?
10. John, injuries have been a real problem this season. Is the strength and conditioning regime adequate?

@Waz A coach that wins a Championship doesn't lose the dressing room in 5 games. That's just BS. I suspect Mulvey falsely believed that winning the Champonshop meant he could go against the backroom boys wishes. Remember all the nonsense about Mulvey 'not following the Brisbane way'. Well apparently the Brisbane way is now lacklustre defending, no heart, poor discipline and crap results.

On Mulvey it is apparently true according to players, most importantly he lost Broich.
But that’s irrelevant apart from being a frame of comparison - why are they sticking with JAnow??

DP message this arvo:
As a follow-on from Chairman Rahim Soekash's update on Thursday, I wanted to extend a Merry Christmas to all our members and supporters.
Tomorrow (Sunday, December 24), our club will be holding an open training session for all of our members and supporters to attend.
OPEN TRAINING SESSION DETAILS
When: Sunday, December 24 Where: Field 2 Ballymore Stadium. 91 Clyde Road, Herston. Time: 8:00 am start
Our players and coaching staff will be on hand to sign autographs and answer questions before they break for Christmas.
We acknowledge that the start of the season hasn’t gone to plan and we know its frustrating for our members and supporters that the realisation of our Hyundai A-League team's potential hasn’t yet resulted in more success this season. We know that our members and supporters have a voice and they are free to express this how they choose.
Our club understands your frustrations and be assured that we will continue to work hard for you and for each other to turn this position around.
We hope that we will have the opportunity to see you Sunday and if you can’t make it, there will always be future opportunities including the fan forum on January 10, 2018, at the XXXX Alehouse - Theatrette from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
Merry Christmas
David Pourre

The old boys club, they couldn't care less about style since its obvious they have none and don't resemble anything to what Ange started. I guess some are just happy to plod along and get a pay check.

You know, I’d take what Jets are doing over Ange’s style - far more entertaining to me.
But when JA says thinks like building for the future and the owners believe in what I’m doing it raises several questions - not least what are you doing and when will we see the benefits??

Interesting that Ange got rid of Moore and Tiatto etc and Mike kept them away. But now the old boys are again entrenched and all of a sudden the 'Brisbane way' is out the window. With those two and Ross Aloisi influencing things, thuggery and drinking culture is sure to thrive.

But when JA says thinks like building for the future and the owners believe in what I’m doing it raises several questions - not least what are you doing and when will we see the benefits?? Ange set the standard, the style of play, the culture and winning mentality for Brisbane, it is something that should always be ingrained with Brisbane and to look at where they are now is a disgrace. If we are to believe what you said, most players were not happy with the way Magic Mike handled things and maybe rightly so, Ange set a high standard and when someone comes in and changes that you get upset. So the board decides to tell Mulvey to pack your bags son, you are not following the "Brisbane Way" Why is it that ever since then Brisbane have slowly but surely drifted so far away from that and no one has said anything, not a single thing? If were are just talking about the players then I guess it could be that fact that not that many players back then are still around, how many actually players do we still have left that were part the Ange era? Why are these current crop of players happy with what Brisbane are currently serving up? Are some afraid to speak out in case the old boys club step in and put them back in line? I doubt many youngsters in the squad would want to step out of line and question Ross.

I think the answer to your question is Dobson, Pourre, Cobb, Kingsman and Pourre - 5 changes of CEO in 4 years; then Ange, Mulvey, Theijsen, Aloisi is 4 changes of coaches in the same period, then the likes of Stead have gone, and now we’re seeing the senior players move on.
The lack of consistency almost guarantees a mess tbh.
Can you get there tomorrow?
Or to the forum in January?

Nah, would just be a waste of time for either as you have said that many people come and go from the club, there would be no point right now.

Excellent turnout this morning for the open training session, probably a couple of hundred people turned out: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1706778096054522&id=1361064053959263¬if_t=feedback_reaction_generic¬if_id=1514072290154744&ref=m_notifJohn, Ross, Pourre, all the players went the extra mile to engage with supporters. Thanks to everyone that posed questions, especially the person who tracked me down in messenger 👍, I got a lot of them answered and the guys were very candid. I’ll type them up and post a link as soon as I can. It’s my daughters birthday today so I’m otherwise distracted and I think I’ve got something on tomorrow lol.

Here’s the Q&A summary. It was less structured than this suggests but I think I caught everything: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1707018992697099&substory_index=0&id=1361064053959263

Not that I really expected anything from this, but after hearing all the excuses in the book from Aloisi it just feels like the same old responses. Thanks for typing all that up though much appreciated, I typed up the questions and answers from a past Bakries drama meeting for here and know it can take some time. The style of football response really is a joke surely, "working towards" I mean we are almost half way through the season with no style at all, are we going to see this change at the end of the season when we are bottom of the ladder? I just realised as well Aloisi signed a contract for 3 years, 3 years......... I just wonder if the Bakries could even be bothered with terminating his contract as it would just be more legal battles and payouts on top of the oh so many in the past, I secretly think they wish Brisbane don't get through the ACL playoffs as it would just mean more money to fork out, lets not forget all the shrimp as well.

Thanks Mr. B.
First off, this was an event organised by Mr Pourre to get fans/players/coaches back together after Thursday’s little stand off and there was indeed a bit of mediation on the sidelines between Ross and The Den. That was part of it but the fact around 200 fans rocked up was rather astonishing.
Now it wasn’t as structured as my write up makes it sound, it wasnt like a fan forum but every player, coach and admin person had clearly been told to answer questions when asked - that’s also Pouree’s style.
But Aloisi was clearly being diplomatic on a few things around this “disrupted preseason” and when pushed he politely said “I don’t want to talk out of school” and moved on. All the coaches and Pouree were kinda the same on the topic.
But I got an answer later on from the playing group which was this - the disrupted preseason was external medical contractors weren’t paid and the players trained without proper medical support - players were not diagnosed, treated or had their recovery managed properly and it cost players and still is. Full medical is in place now but corners were cut early in preseason
So like you, for me the playing style question remains an unknown until I see if for myself but that’s why he’s still working towards it.
As far as the ACL goes, Roar think they’ll break even if they get to the group stages due to the improved rewards but to do that they’ll need to be in Chester stadiums. They’re looking at PP for the prequalified and QEII for the actual group if they get there.
