Sydney FC played really well, Adrian and Ninko were excellent.
On the other end Freddy Guarin showing why he has played for Inter Milan and Porto, such a classy player with an excellent first touch to boot.

You actually have to win games.Ask Roar.If you concede 2 goals a game you lose most games. Calver only improved because Shanghai S ran out of legs.Next time you play you will be players short and in the thick of multiple games in quick succession. I would say,Shanghia and SFC will miss out.

+x+x+xFeel sorry for Calver.Talk about thrown in the deep end.I can see why Brillante didnt make it in Italy. He just has to many mistakes in him.All in all FC would have to be happy with that. But I cant see them getting through to the next round. That defence with the keeper looks shakier than the shaky isle across the ditch.Arnold made a massive miscalculation with his backline formthe AFC or a certain person who pulled the pin at the last moment has stuffed things up and killed off any chance FC had. Disagree. On the basis on that game I feel we have every chance of making the next round. Calver improved tonight as the game went on. Hopefully he'll improve with game time. You do have every chance obviousy, but it does now rely on you winning at the very least 1 of the 3 games against Kashima and Suwon. Our next ACL game is against Kashima at home. A win is an absolute must.

In the past we have gotten a lot of points against China and half hearted Japanese teams. These days its much harder and we are forced to try and win more points against korean teams
I think they need around 9 points to advance which means at least one win away from home

But if they fail to beat Kashima at home they are almost definitely out.

+xthat was the best performance from an Aussie team in the ACL to date.. what a game to watch... it was great entertainment. agree. End to end - you didn't want to take your eyes off the tv. Bobo has never very mobile but I'll take his size/positioning in the box and his leap for heading as shown by the 1st goal. That 2nd one of ours was quality. Yes there were errors and just as many by them. Calver is out of his depth but how many have quoted regards AL teams to use more locals. Mind you Arnie has thrown him in the deep end (in the club since 2012 with just 28 appearances) but that happened back in the nsl days right. Selection error we shall see I suppose but he's getting a quick lesson last 2games lol...... Overall pretty happy, night and day compared to previous game we recovered.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Because if we can learn one thing from the A League its that throwing lots of money behind one player makes a difference No salary cap means the best players in the CSL are in the top clubs. You were seeing Chinese players 300 - 330 up against a random mix of Aussie players 1 - 180

The result doesn't suit bluebird's agenda and I don't think he even watched the game.

+xthat was the best performance from an Aussie team in the ACL to date.. what a game to watch... it was great entertainment. My favourite performance was roar v fc Tokyo even though the roar lost it was the highest level of club football i had seen on oz soil and a glimpse of what it would be like if j league clubs gave 100 percent in the acl Having said that last night's goals were some of the best team goals oz clubs have produced in the acl

On that basis i can see why some oppose removing the cap here.

Depends on the other results like you said, if there are a few draws they could get lucky but you really have to win your home games to make it through.

Get a grip honestly. I never said that. I assume you have me confused with another poster. All I'm saying is the performance suggested we could still make it out of the group. I'm trying to counter the constant negativity of the likes of bluebird and WSF, who for varying reasons are throwing a wet blanket over anyone who says anything positive about the game or Sydney's performance.

So the best 30 individual players in the Serie A play for Napoli?

It wasn't literal, it was approximate The point is they finished 11th so presumably the best players would have been in the top 4 clubs

Brisbane - didn't make it past the playoff round against the Philippines Melbourne - 3rd and winless Sydney - dead last The impact of the salary cap is more about the distribution of players. 70% of Australia's best were not part of ACL squads

You can't have it both ways. That's why you let the market decide.

You either have a shitty domestic comp dominated by 1 or 2 teams with those 1 or 2 teams doing well in Asia against comparative players or you have what we have now.
