Plenty of fair dinkum pubs near the stadium, bus no. 27 goes past and down Turton Rd., if you want the full Newy go to the Tenzo which is across the park from the ground.

So pissed off right now. It's one of my best mates weddings on Saturday... organised when the grand final was going to be on a Sunday, they were unable to change it. Will i hold out and watch it after the wedding or do i keep up with it during the wedding on my phone. 🤔😭

Is Kenny signed up again? Was great again. Is so awkward for defenders to combat.

+xIs Kenny signed up again? Was great again. Is so awkward for defenders to combat. I will gladly admit I was wrong about Kenny - his last half-dozen games, even if they're sub cameos, have proven him to be more than a handful for opposition defences. He is VERY mobile for such a big man. Happy for King Kenny to be signed up longer term and hopefully flourish into a capable striker for the club.

He is a physical sort of striker we hadn't had since allsopp

+x@ walnuts yeah. He’s good on the ball and doesn’t panic. His touch has improved dramatically - still has the odd howler, but with a full pre-season and under the tutelage of Bes & Co he should be more than good enough for the club as a squaddie.

+xsafe to assume the backline next season will be Brown, Donachie, Williams, Roux No room for Deng at LB? I don't watch much of other teams but by reports most Roar fans were happy to see Brown leave.

@ Sanchez
Let me try and give you a balanced perspective on Brown.
At his worst he is fat, over-weight, lazy and can’t be bothered getting into position.
At his best, he’s a great tackler, aggressive, and excellent going forward.
This time last year he was our player of the year, but when he returned to preseason training rumour was he’d signed for Victory and quite frankly, he played like he was disinterested from the get go.
That “disinterest” has been interpreted as disloyalty by many fans, contrast that with Berisha who signed for Victory in January but gave his all for Roar until the end. That’s why we’re glad to see the back of Corey.
So in Brown you’ve got the basics of a good player, a very decent left back, Muscat just needs to recover Brown of last season not this, then you’ll do fine.

I can imagine Muscat not standing for laziness etc, so could work out best for all parties. Just would hate to see Deng go back to riding the pine after improving immeasurably this year through a good amount of (shock horror) game time.

Brown and roux are coming to a bigger club... they don't get a walk up start. Between them and deng there's great competition. Plus dengs preference is cb so he'll get time there too. Plus with valeri going what are the thoughts of williams pushing into midfield, hes only missed one game through injury maybe that full season would build the confidence to push forward. Antonis and williams together would be amazing. Make it happen.

“Brown and roux are coming to a bigger club” ... farks sake, it’s like the salary cap doesn’t exist lol.
And Browns never had a “walk-up start”, he was first in competition with Stefanutto for a place, then the moment he was senior in that position he had O’Toole (who is a better fullback than Brown just lacks the necessary physical presence, as Brown did at 20) nipping at his heels then, when O’Toole got injured, Ivan Franjic replaced him - but by that point Brown was pretty much NFI and house hunting in Melbourne.
But he’s yours now, I dont think you’ve got a bad full back for what it’s worth, when he’s on firm he’s bloody good. And personally if I were brown I’d have left Roar just to get away from that blasted supporters song anyway ...

Muscy pushes players and all senior players will pull them up if they get lazy .

So was that Williams definitely out for the weekend or we don't know at this stage and will be re-assessed did he say?

I'm pretty sure Theo walked it off and was on the field when the whistle blew, it could've been nigro. But I'm pretty sure it was number 31.

Yeah i did see that but was confused as I thought it was Muscat that said he was stretchered off. Perhaps he meant could've been stretchered off? Anyway I guess no news is good news in this case?!

According to todays herald sun. Williams is definitely out with a minor calf tear (3-4 weeks). He could play with an injection, but decided not to risk it. Theoharous has strained angle ligaments. He's in a moon boot but could still play, so fortunately very minor injury.
