+xAccording to todays herald sun. Williams is definitely out with a minor calf tear (3-4 weeks). He could play with an injection, but decided not to risk it. Theoharous has strained angle ligaments. He's in a moon boot but could still play, so fortunately very minor injury. Shiiiitttt :( -PB

Anyone know what the deal will be with Etihad this weekend, in terms of the bar, will it be full strength beers or mids? Alternatively what would be the pub(s) of choice otherwise?

I think someone asked the official club twitter, might be worth checking that. I don't have the Twitter, as far as I can tell I can't view replies or 'posts' by others only MV's posts. Can anyone help a brother out? edit: confirmed on Facebook event page. Someone got an email from Etihad management saying full strength beer will be served. Happy days

+xWe are champions, we are champions! We are more than champions. We are officially the most successful A league team ever and will remain so for at least the next 2 years (and I suspect much longer).
Full trophy cabinet (but yours looks a bit empty) ! Reigning BACK2BACK 442 A League and World Cup (Mens and Womens) Tipping Champion - so yeap, I do know best !

I still can't come to grips with the fact that a backline of
Broxham - Deng - Donachie - Nigro
won an Aleague championship. Imagine how good we'd be with more than 2 fit defenders in the entire squad. Donachie is such a beast, and after a shaky start Antonis really kicked on and came into his own in the finals.

Just to sum up this season
- Couldnt put a full strength team out 2 games in a row for the first 2 months - Lost Milligan and then Geria in quick succession - Fans calling for Kevs head - Beat Sydney away with our best defender injured pregame - Beat Newcastle away in the GF.
Duck I love this club.

Duck I love this club. Add to these some important factors. No internal breaks which stuffed up our start of season. This is being fixed for next year. Had some serious injury issues. Austin and Donachie. Also George, Antonis and Athui all underdone when they arrived. Had the officials against us and calling for SFC all season. (We were due a fortunate call). Victory were the team capable of playing the best football when it counted. In Australia that is how it works. We deserve to be the CHAMPIONS more so than any other team. Victory now officially the best A league team ever. Have to give full credit to Muscat and a special shout out to George. Import players are brought in to win the Championship. George did that. It would not have occurred without him. He was the most important player of the season. For me that makes him the best player in the league.

I know it gives us a nice cash boost, but can we fuck off Etihad for good soon? Looking at the season stats, we played 14 home games at AAMI, winning 11, drawing 1 and losing 2. We literally did not win a single game at Etihad in 5 attempts.

Meaning if piss of from there we will have to pay them out in the millions . a binding contract sees that

It was a very poor move to renew the contract but we're stuck with that dump now. Even with the seats in, it's still a shit football stadium. Plus the way the league is heading, it's going to get pretty grim there with sub 20k crowds turning up. On a similar note, I hope we have a long term plan for our Maribynong site for a NPL level ground so we can play all Youth and W-League games there in the future. The current plan is for 500 spectators undercover but i have no idea what that would actually look like (possibly something like Port Melbourne's ground)

Pictures on plans look good but the look can change when it's built

the worse thing about Etihad is the $225 million upgrade means it remains a multi-sport venue. this means we'll be stuck playing there (plus future A-League Grand Finals) for many, many years to come.
