+xHow about Deng and Donachie at CB as first choice, and give Williams a try at CDM next to Antonis? This.

This may not have been our best championship win but it certainly feels like the sweetest, given everything we had to contend with and where we came from.
The reality is, Melbourne Victory is a star studded team in the AL. I know this gets said a lot, but the fact we finished 4th at round 27 meant we were the greatest 4th placed team in AL history, so we were going to be dangerous no matter who played us and where (think Federer having a poor season and is unseeded in the draw, dangerous). But then I look at our players, and I think, how did we only manage 4th? Maybe me being a Victory fan I have a biased opinion of our players. But come on, Barba, Barisha, Troisi, George, Broxy, Williams, Milligan (I can concede Millsy was crap and I'm glad he left, best thing to happen to us all season, turned it around).
Muscat is now being touted as a big game specialist. But I'm thinking he will want to go better during the home and away season next season because a section of the crowd will turn on him again if things start going pear shaped. I'm still reading feedback from some (on social media, even the MV's page) that they still want him out. And Muscat doing another Houdini again in the finals next season will be a lot harder. There are only so many times you can pull the rug out from underneath people's feet.

why is there a perception that Millsy was shit when he played for us? yes i admit he didn't play many games because of national duty and the red card, but in the small amount of games he played, i thought he was brilliant. Then Antonis took over his role on his departure. re that video. comedy gold!!!

Beautiful. Even the page A-League Memes, which is really just a pro Sydney FC page, couldn't say anything bad about it.

I meant he was being festabalising to the team. Will he won't he. I was excited when he signed for 1 year but when he made the decision to leave I was like good riddance.

To continue reading into players' social media, Rojas has just tagged himself as back in Melbourne in an Instagram story.

Am I the only one that wouldn't want Rojas back lol? Can't we just find another Leroy somewhere out there in the wild? What will we do next, give Milligan another run? -PB

Why wouldn't you want him back? He literally dominated the league 12 months ago.
Milligan would walk straight back into our team as well, so I'd open him back with open arms.
Proven players > unknown commodities. If you have the opportunity to get a Rojas, you get a Rojas. We could get another George (debatable as to if he was better than Rojas) or we could get a Beister. Not sure why you'd take a chance just because it's something new.
With Bes looking like leaving, you don't want to be blooding in half 3/4 of a new forward line at once.

Matias, Mitch, Nigro and McGlip released. Surely Nigro has another club lined up? Why else would you release him?

Nigro is a bit of a disappointment, but he may be unhappy being pigeonholed as a fullback and want to spread his wings at another club where they will play him at his preferred position of DM.
The other three are fine.

+xMatias, Mitch, Nigro and McGlip released. Surely Nigro has another club lined up? Why else would you release him? Matias and Mitch to be expected. Shame about Nigro, was good to see a local Ballarat boy at the Victory, obviously off somewhere else and wish him well. McGlip is a funny one, I always find it slightly odd when players around 20 yrs old are released without really been given any chance, obviously hasn't impressed enough in training.

McGilp was a utility, theres only so many utilities you can utilise. Hope looks to have been the one pushing him out, probably the same as Sanchez.

+xMatias, Mitch, Nigro and McGlip released. Surely Nigro has another club lined up? Why else would you release him? must have signed elsewhere. so would I if Broxy was getting a game ahead of me. I'm disappointed, but hope he excels elsewhere. But what is just as disappointing is no announcement that that Ingham has been released. Surely he's not being retained?
