Losing Jmoz cuts a little too deep for me. All thanks to the insane debacle the Inept Trio left us with, the nightmare lingers on. After 10 years with the club and a 100 trys its awful to see Jmoz close out his career with another club. Of all the players released so far last year and this year, Jmoz hurts the most. Will be painful to see him in other colours.

Very happy for Josh Morris , he deserves some more dollars at this point of his career seeing how good he is going and clearly Canterbury are not fit to fulfil that for him . Black mark for the club today that a solid guy like Josh has to leave . Just park it with all the other black marks we have enjoyed in recent times

Wouldn’t it be great if Idiot Des, Dib & Rae we’re actually stuck in that Thailand Cave instead...
Would a rescue team be bothered?
I know Dman in his mango wetsuit would be the first on the scene...

Zip-ee-dee-doo-dah! ...now there is a subtle reference.

There's a long way to go yet Tony till next season. The new Board know what we need and hopefully they will find a few gems. Thank Dib and Hasler if you see them around the traps.

Complete joke that Morris is going to Cronulla. They have just taken Woods and have a star studded roster yet amazingly afford Morris. How can the NRL seriously believe the Salary Cap works? It definitely does NOT even out talent across the comp. You only have to look at Easts and Cronulla to see that.

I would have strongly preferred to keep JMoz & BMoz .... but sometimes you are better off letting players go a season too early, rather than a season too late... Without them our results for 2019 & possibly 2020 might not be as good, but we were very unlikely to win the comp in those years... so we are trading worse results 2019-2020, for better results 2021-2023, when we might be a step closer to being a contender..... IMO it is a balancing act, we have just enough talent on the books to be competitive, but no where near enough to be a contender, what we need to avoid is becoming a weak club that pays overs .... I have little doubt drawing the line on some retention decisions is part of that... I can't guarantee future success, but I see no reason to panic...

The club reluctantly made the decision to let the twins go months ago. Josh hurts because he has been such a great clubman for a decade. We now only have Klemmer and Jackson from 2014. The hard decisions have been made, not palatable but they had to be made. I do wonder how the druggo sharks are under the cap.

I'm happy with everything the club is doing. I am a big advocate of letting players go 1 or 2 years before their end of prime. That's how Bellamy does it. Doesn't keep players until he can't squeeze anything out anymore. Always let's them go one or two or three years early.

Well this proves we have some money does it not?.....Hill says we made Jmoz an extremely competitive offer to stay. https://www.bulldogs.com.au/news/2018/07/10/josh-morris-to-leave-the-bulldogs/

We might have gone close to matching their offer..... JMoz would like to win a comp before he retires, a bit more cash, and a shot at that might have swayed him.

Loosing players who have reached their top and command top dollars is one thing when rebuilding. I get that and agree. But to train up a guy for 2 years and he starts to shine after being promoted, and then you can't keep him when you can't recruit outsiders anyway, is just plain cruel for the club and fans....hard to take. Hope it doesn't go that way with Martin and Lewis.

Tony, how do you know Reece is on good money?
What is that good money amount?
Is it $150k?
Is it $200k?
He’s an 80 min player that is developing & can kick goals..... he’s yet to play 10 x 1st grade games, but I wouldn’t be offering him anything more than $250k per season
Maybe a 3yr deal where he gets $400k in his 3rd year can sway him to stay???
As for J Moz.... I’m extremely disappointed he’s going, but like Slinky said... let them go a year early than a year too late
We’ve already been down that path with some of the current lot staying well past their used by date

+xBUT good news on the horizen Is what this official said plenty of player managers are ring the club with offering players That is exactly right Tony in any market there are 2 kinds of people buyers and sellers..... The buyers are the ones that need to do their homework.... I saw our game against North Sydney in ISP yesterday, I was impressed with the centre Harper and the young guy playing with him on the wing.... I know reserve grade isn't a good guide, but young guys showing potential is exactly what we want to see...

Club official is a very broad description...the bloke who mans the gate at Belmore would be a "club official". I do hope Rhyse Martin is retained and I am sure the Dogs highest ranking "club officials" would do so as well. Has anyone in NRL history made such an auspicious kicking debut? 12 from 12 with many having a high degree of difficulty. He could be a long term second row partner with Josh Jackson. Elliott stepped it up so our back 3 forwards could be set.
