So full of Helen Kellers….he is the new Trent Hodkinson...when we won it was in spite of him and when we lost it was because of him....I guess with so many losses this year there are a lot of "because of hims"

Yes...and with reason too.
If you intend to win games 8-6, Lichaa is ok. But in todays game you need to get to 24 points to win 70% of your games and be top 4 material. Lichaa thwarts the team and has done so for years. For s team that has so much cap spent on forwards over the years, there is no excuse for the hooker.
Time to move on.

I wont even mention my disdain for the fact that he was chosen over Damien Cook. Des and his brilliant eye for talent. Bwahahahaha

The good thing Marki, Des is gone and his legacy will only linger for a few seasons more. The most disheartening thing is that in tandem with Dib and Castle the three of them have left an indelible stain on the history of the club and that will last a bit longer.

Wrong question.

You should be asking who was it here thought about backending ANYONE in our current predicament?

You'll have a new favorite must-have next week or month anyway Mark so don't get too caught up on Homes.

Brad, it wouldnt hurt to praise the Broncos defense....
Sharks had set after set on their line and couldnt crack them.
Sharks looked more likely to score from outside the 20 than in the 20. Abit like us actually...

The Tigers have brought Robbie Rochow onto the bench. He's been struggling to make their 17 all year.
I remember when he was at the Knights a few years ago he singlehandedly destroyed C'bury one day.

Yeah im surprised he has disappeared all this time....
He went to the storm didn't he? I could have sworn I saw him play off the bench a couple of times...
Probably one of the few players to ever lose form playing under Bellamy....

Tony, im a believer - especially on this one.
In fact, even if its not true or you mis-heard.....the more we talk about it, the more chance the club will hear it whispered and might follow suit!

Actually for 150k, Michael Lichaa is probably a good squad player.
But if he is in the top 17 or wants more money, the club has rocks in its head.

I still think Des has stuffed Lichaa's career.

But it is up to Lichaa to do something about it...

Pay gave him a 2nd shot this season and he really didn't measure up to the required standard for a starting 9 in the NRL.

You are looking at him being more of a utility/squad player...

I would think strongly about transiting him to an old style lock or even a straight out 2nd rower...

I know he is small for a backrower, but he is a good defender and is hard to tackle.... watch the number of times he shakes free on 2 defenders and make another 5 yards or so.. he is only running slowly most of the time so it is a few extra yards rather than a half-break...

Odviously he is now a "project player" and more of a gamble...

If if someone want to turn him back into a 9 he needs to trim down and get back some speed, he needs to improve his passing and use his kicking skills ... a tall order...

HD, I’ve yet to see Lichaa make a dominant tackle... he just hugs the attacker to death

Your right, got given another chance by Pay.... and he’s failed miserably

He’s overweight, his service is slow and inside the 20m Attacking Zone... plays that awful DesBall

I hope not to see him again in 2019

The other thing I have to say is I watched Woods last night for the Sharks, and he was ordinary ....

Prior looked like 3 X the player Woods was... I never thought I would be saying that at this part of the season...

I've now officially back-flipped twice on Woods...

When he was starting out, I though he was over rated...

Around the time he signed for us, I thought he was a good player and would add a lot to our side...

He started the season well for us and more or less played to my expectations (as did Foran) or the first 3-4 rounds..

But he seems to have got progressively worse .. last night he was ordinary full stop .. probably close to the worst prop on the field in the game...

My guess is that he has just mentally lost a bit of confidence and focus ... or in the old school terms ...we have played him out of form...

The Sharks might be able to fix he game and he may be good next year..... turning his form around this year looks like a tall order...

I'm now officially back to not rating him until I see him produce something like his 2017 form...

I can still remember a game where he single-handedly destroyed our pack .... a few years ago ... it is a hard to imagine now...

Last year Rochow had half a season at Souths & half a season at Storm. Only 9 appearances between them. Spent time playing for Norths last year when he couldn't get a run.
He seems to be getting more of a go at the Tigers but probably has to earn his stripes again after a quiet 2017.

Like I said....you HAVE to have 30 players in your top squad.
At 150k I think its mutually beneficial for both club and player. 150k in the real world is bloody good money so he shouldn't feel undervalued.
But he shouldn't be seeing first grade unless the first choice options are out.

Much agree with you HD.
I was never a fan is signing him in the first place (mind you I was also never a fan of signing Fifita - another forward).
My thoughts on where the club spends the baulk of its money are well known on the BDP and I don't for a minute think im wrong here.
Time to focus on backs and halves.

As for Woods, I think he'll have to step up next year when the sharks lose Gallen, Lewis etc but I think he is alittle unsure how he fits into that team at the moment. You would think with that much competition, he would be looking to impress but I suspect having joined mid season, he is probably abit shy in being the assertive player is normally is.

Steve, the problem is, the written word and the spoken word are completely different. As you are aware, when you speak to someone your emotions and gestures let them know whether you are joking around or being serious. With the written word, there are no emotions connected to the words, therefore, the intention is ambiguous and what has been written can be interpreted any way by the receiver which may be entirely different of what was intended by the author.

Words of wisdom...and I can see the point. I guess I am the opposite to the new age parent...the one that when his/her kid rolls around the floor at the supermarket crying and screaming because they won't get a Freddo Frog for them and offers some sort of cosmic attempt to placate the kid. "Now if I buy you that there may not be one there for the kid who really needs one when he comes along"
