So who is captain of our first 11, with Carl on the bench? If Carl is going to be relegated from first team duty, then I am completely ok with Lawrence being given the arm band. Embodies the club spirit completely imo. Except the armband should be wrapped around his head, two of them.

This article from the Adelaide Advertiser from June 2015 cites him as 18 years old at the time. This article from The Corner Flag (RIP) from March 2017 has him at 20, although the tense of the relevant sentence is ambiguous. This article from the same site in April of the same year also cited 20 years of age. This article from The Daily Football show from July 2018 has him as 21 years old. Is it possible that the reputable database Transfermarkt is wrong about one player of African origin's age and three corroborative sources are correct? Yes. Does the quality of the near entirety of Australian football journalism run the gamut from bumbling incompetence to Byzantine paranoia? Also yes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Makes sense to look at a 22 year old with a big upside potentially No nerve hit here whatsoever, I think you might have misread the intent of my post. I was totally open to either or both being wrong and did some googling to find some answers and shared it here. (I do totally stand by my opinion of Australian football media, however. David Squires notwithstanding, of course.) As a Victory fan I'm happy either way as long as he's good at football and will serve my team in his time here if we sign him, but of course it'd be a bit nicer if he was younger and had more years of football ahead of him.
