Congratulations Josh Jackson. The most underrated and undervalued player in the game. Dave Klemmer should have gotten Dally M prop.

I will not be watching the first grade grand final. A worst nightmare could not be envisaged. Storm vs Roosters with Slater playing.

I’m glad it’s the last game for the cheat grub and sook. And hopefully his mate Smith goes too.

Hope Napa lines him up. But it’s hard to get him cause he dogs it and goes to ground before he can be tackled

Very surprised with Josh Jackson getting Dally M second rower. It's a hotly contested field and they only award 1 player for each position (not 2 for centre, 2nd row or prop).

I personally thought Jake Trbojevic should have been picked ahead of both Jacko or Taulmalolo. He has been far more consistent than both above.

But good on Jacko gor getting noticed.

Jackson was the most consistent over the entire season...

Frizzell & Co were great leading up to Origin, but form dropped off

That grub BJ Leilua should never have been awarded Centre of the year.... Latrell Mitchell should have gotten it.

Have no interest in GF winner but hate Rorters more. Will laugh if Cronk doesn't play and they loose after "virtually" dumping Pearce to win it.

I'm going for Dale Finucane.

I have not gotten excited over the GF this year actually very disinterested. The chooks are just out and out cheats, we all know this and they think that can run the NRL. I feel sorry for Latrell Mitchell as I think he is a very talented player and will be a future star performer. The storm are a very good team and have one of my favourite players in Dale Finucane, but I doubt whether I could stomach watching Smith whinge, whine and try to referee the GF and most certainly don't want to watch billy the grub kick, knee and shoulder charge his way through the game (legally of course!!!). As a matter of fact a nil all draw would be a fitting result. I will watch the ISP and then the footy gets turned off. Go the Doggies.

Souths & Cronulla would've at least been watchable, but it had to be the other 2, didn't it...
If anything, I'll probably just watch the state match with Canterbury in it, then switch off.
Admittedly, due to my frustration of a non traditional club being in it, also the Roosters in it, I've considered avoiding TV, newpapers, all other people, blinding myself & wearing noise cancelling ear pieces for the rest of my life in a cave, even starving myself to death so I never have to know the result!
Seriously though, it's just a dead rubber to me, can't be bothered watching it, so it doesn't matter to me either way. Whatever happens will happen & it wont make any difference to my life. Hopefully Eastwood & co finish up with a win on the day, then onwards & at them for the blue & whites next season...

Steve, that'd work for me, but most wouldn't have heard of him.

When I checked the team sheet the other day, I looked to see if Fine & Frawley were amongst it. They weren't, which says a lot about the extent of their injuries.
From the ISP matches I saw this year, Fine was very good, much improved compared to last year. He never seemed to have the best of luck at NRL level, but he certainly helped the ISP side make it so far this year. Frawley was Frawley, could be a match winner (& was often enough for ISP this year) but could also cost matches too, which was also reflected at NRL level. It's a shame those guys had to finish up that way, watching on from the stand, but that's the way it goes. They'll move on & get on with it next year.

Zef, Have you seen any of the vids by Robert Reich over the last year or so?
He sure knows his stuff & clearly has for many years. If he's not ripping DT apart one way it's another. Nothing seems to get past him. He's like an expensive microscope zoomed in on ant shyte, as he was with all predecessors. It shows in many detailed comparisons & references in his points. Anyway, I wont bloat the page with any more waffling on about it. I'm assuming you probably would've heard of him, just mentioned him in case you hadn't.

Canterbury star playmaker Kieran Foran is in such a good place physically and mentally, he is counting the days until the start of pre-season training.

And with skipper Josh Jackson scooping the Dally M back-rower of the year award on Wednesday, things are finally starting to look up at Belmore.

In the same week the NRL suspended half of the $250,000 fine for the Bulldogs' Mad Monday antics, news of Foran's health and Jackson's gong will come as a welcome boost for a support which has had precious little to cheer in 2018.

All smiles: Kieran Foran.

The Herald can reveal Foran has confided in teammates about how determined he is to deliver. After Canterbury shed Aaron Woods, Moses Mbye and the Morris twins to relieve some salary-cap pressure, supporters will be almost demanding their $3 million playmaker, who weds next month, stays on the park and justifies his price tag.

Belmore's 2019 finals hopes will be largely dependent on Foran and his fitness and how well he combines with rookie half Lachlan Lewis. Christian Crichton, Corey Harawira-Naera, Jack Cogger, Nick Meaney and Jesse Sue have all been recruited.

"I spoke with 'Foz' the other day and he's feeling good, everything has been cleaned out, he's had all his surgeries and excited to get back to training,'' international prop David Klemmer said.

"He's got that smile on his face and he wants to play footy again. He was like that at the start of this year but his body still wasn't right. He's had a good break now and he's ready to go.

"He's an international player, on his day he is one of the best halves in the game. I'm glad he's with us. He's in a good head space.''

Foran lasted 12 games before a toe injury forced him out of the back half of the season. He also underwent wrist surgery while back issues will continue to receive round-the-clock treatment for the remainder of his career.

Hungry for action: David Klemmer, who has partnered with Deliveroo to launch the 'Klemmer Burger', available over grand final weekend.

Photo: Chloe Paul

Klemmer was disappointed with how the end-of-season celebrations at the Harbour View Hotel were captured by a Sydney newspaper without their knowledge. He said it had been a ''big learning curve'', and things would have been different had they known photographers were secretly watching their every move.

Klemmer also defended coach Dean Pay for attending Mad Monday, and spoke about why he was the man to drive the club forward.

"He's good with the players, he backs us and we found the style of play we want to play with next year,'' said Klemmer, who has combined with Burger Project and Deliveroo this weekend for a one-off 'Klemmer Burger'.

As for Jackson, the unsung hero who missed out on Origin selection this season - but whose inclusion in the Dally M Team of the Year sparked plenty of debate - Klemmer said: "Everyone will have their say but Jacko did a lot of things people didn't see but those who know football did see.

"He had a real captain's knock for us this year. He dug deep, he did the one-per-centers, he was always the first person on the kick chase and covering tackles.''

Klemmer will feature in the PM's XIII clash against Papua New Guinea before being one of the first props picked for Australia's two Tests against New Zealand and Tonga next month.

He dug deep, he did the one-per-centers, he was always the first person on the kick chase and covering tackles.''Klemmer will feature in the PM's XIII clash against Papua New Guinea before being one of the first props picked for Australia's two Tests against New Zealand and Tonga next month.

That's a shame. A medical retirement would have been nice.

Looks like he's a good loomer.

I like a runner who looms.

Looms and goes up a gear quick when he gets the ball.

IMO potentially more exciting than Barba, highlights did feature any playmaking, don't need to pass when you can run the try in yourself.

Perhaps a lot to lewwrn but you can't coach anticipation and pace.

That's a shame. A medical retirement would have been nice.

Foran is causing issues with our cap, but if he can help us win somes games early in the season and some critical games at the back end it will be worth it.

Forget the last game he played, he should not have played.

His defence in 2018 was the big question and his head space.
For 2019 he deserves a chance. We will soon find out if he is serious.
He knows that he is also playing for pride and the next contract.
