+xThere's a rumour that was floating around Twitter for awhile, had a head of steam there for a bit, not so much lately, that we were making a play for Manu and Easts were prepared to release him because they have to release somebody. Don't know if it's still a thing, can't say with any certainty that it ever was. But it was red hot for a while there. They'll keep him... Gotta remember with Fergo leaving they have $10 million to spend... Plus NRL has probably waived half of Cronks salary due to playing with one arm in the GF...

It is not difficult to see that Greenberg wants to put his mark on the Rugby League map, firstly by manipulating the GF so that no matter the result "history" was made. And now that Inglis has been stood down as Australian captain, they choose Cordner and miraculously "history" is made. What is his fixation with record breaking events, I think he wants to be "remembered" for his input into the game. All I will remember Greenberg for is being an opportunistic, pompous poonce that ruined the game.

And now that Inglis has been stood down as Australian captain, they choose Cordner and miraculously "history" is made. What is his fixation with record breaking events, I think he wants to be "remembered" for his input into the game. All I will remember Greenberg for is being an opportunistic, pompous poonce that ruined the game. I think Nancy nailed it, it was a boring GF featuring 2 unpopular teams, nothing to excite or even interest real league fans. There was plenty of double standards and bending the rules beforehand to let both teams be at full strength. Every real fan knows the Roosters success is on the back of buying players and acting contrary to the spirit of the Salary Cap, but most of us had no real love for the Storm either. But even watching the game as a dispassionate league fan with no real interest in the outcome, it wasn't a great GF as it wasn't a contest for most of the game. I don't want to dwell on negatives, I'm excited to see what the Dogs can do in 2019. The only downside for 2019 is the Roosters keep purchasing high quality players and letting nuffies go, the NRL has to realise that is unfair, and contrary to the best interests of the game. If the 2019 GF features the Roosters, the ratings will be even lower than 2018.

Storm v Bunnies in week 1 was a good game, or at least a close an interesting contest. The week 2 games were at least close, without being a high standard. Week 3 and the GF fairly low standard a games. I agree, none of the games was particularly memorable, and the standard seemed to drop off as the finals progressed. Whether that is bias, as we were not involved, is hard to tell, but most years there are at least 1-2 finals games I really enjoy that are memorable. The reality is you only get a great GF every 4 years, but the week 3 games are normally great games, this year they were a fizzer IMO.

NYTimes online is always worth a read and they don't try and stop you after you view a few times. They certainly pull no punches. Requests to interview Trump on this matter were denied and a spokesman claims the allegations are false. Al Capone could certainly vouch for the US Tax Department.

That main article is longer than some books I've read and there's more articles hanging off it plus an editorial. I was thinking to myself it must've taken a year to do all that and have since found out it did - a year of work. Investigative journalism - it still exists.

There was an interview I seen with Tony Schwartz today (co-author of Trump's book "The Art of The Deal') on Youtube via... MSNBC?... about this article and a few things he said stuck in me head.
He's not surprised by this. And says he said from day one of his Presidency in interviews whenever he was asked that it would be fraud, money laundering and tax evasion that would end up being the main game. The collusion and obstruction of justice and all the rest were just entrees, the money would be real story.
He said Fred Trump (Pumpkins dad) was in the business of making money, Donald Trump in the business of losing it.
And asked about NY authorities and would they pursue legally (much of the avoided tax is NY State Tax) he said NY Authorities once had a good relationship with Donald Trump, but they don't now.

It is amazing that the level of condemnation for the Bulldogs Mad Monday antics where a zoom lens snaps some photos of a couple of drunk players in a private function behaving like idiots and getting their gear off, where the only real personal injury was to the pride by the silly players and maybe some trauma for the Telecrap photographer who zoomed in a bit too close. Compare the Bulldog related media hysteria with the restrained media coverage of the Rabbitohs Greg Inglis DUI and speeding charge. We are talking about one of the highest rugby league players getting behind the wheel while over the limit and speeding, something that could have actually killed a young family in a car accident due to his stupidity. Where are the 5 days of front page coverage from the Telegraph this incident? When should we expect a press release from Crown Resorts, Fujitsu, Playup ISC, Hostplus, Suttons, Alcatel, P&), BSC, Colgate, or Nova 96.8 to announce that they they cannot condone such behaviour?

yay Proud to be a bulldog fan, I went to the grand final, very proud of our boys. Rhyse Martin take a bow. An exceptional man on and off the field. A class act. Renouf T, what great improvement from him. Ogden and Burr outstanding.
Thanks for the memories Cleeland, he has been great this back end of the season.
