Now Head loses his.  What is going on?

Where is the ticker, the application. SOS Marsh deserves a rocket.  He started the rot. Threw away his wicket instead of leading by example.  Surely his last tour unless he scores at least 50 in next match.

Paine yet another Bilal victim.

I asked the question had the current generation improved their spin play since the Sri Lanka disaster two years ago.. We have the answer. They are still an embarrassment against the turning ball.

I was worried this would happen. The opening stand was encouraging though.

The Pakistani spin is high quality, but I've been saying this for years about few Aussie pitches being conducive to spin. Few spinners are selected in Shield teams that rely on pace on pace friendly wickets. Most of these pace bowlers aren't much good overseas.

Peever and Sutherland didn't care about developing players for the Subcontinent, where most overseas cricket is played.

Also, Australia has the highest runs scored per over in Test cricket played in Australia in the world. Only about 15 percent of Aussies see us play in those series.

We are looking like being about 300 behind. The Paks would be silly not to enforce the follow on. Our  morale is shattered.

Did anyone not see that collapse coming? The only ones capable of runs in this side are Khawaja and Finch. From 3 down we're so lacking in experience its just pathetic we didnt go for Maxwell (whos made a 100 in Asia) or get someone experienced in there.

It really annoys me Maxwell missed out. It seems to have been a stupid decision.

I saw him make a good Test century on the Subcontinent - was it against India?

DC I am very disappointed in this display because Peever and Sutherland have been working on ways to improve our play in the sub cont. After our last India disaster steps were made to do something so this embarrassment would never happen again. Someone came up with the idea of making Indian like pitches at the Cricket Centre in Brisbane. First they shipped Indian soil here or where thinking of doing that.. perhaps the cost was too much so they went looking for our own soil that had similar qualities to the Indian one. Not sure exactly where they found it.. somewhere in the sticks. This soil then went into building practice pitches at the Cricket Centre. Our blokes have been using these decks before every sub continental tour since. Still they are lame ducks against the turning ball.

Usman and Finch had a bit of luck, but the latter in particular looked good.

None of the others established themselves, but I was worried about a collapse.

They don't.

IMO India is the best place to watch cricket.

I spoke to a current Tassie Shield spinner who said it was really frustrating playing grade cricket on turning pitches, then having to play on the  Bellerive Oval in the Shield where it is difficult bowling spin against good batters with no assistance whatsoever from the pitch.

I'm told by others, and I think I've seen it on TV, that we are ostensibly the worst team in the world in India, Pakistan, UAE, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, according to our recent record.

Is this the collapso to beat all collapsos? We have gone from something like 150 when Finch went to just passed the 200 mark for 9 down. Soon to be all out.

This was questioned by a former player at the time. Just forgotten who. He wanted to know why  these pitches  had not been installed at a ground so you can actually have a game situation.
Disagree about India. I do not like watching people struggling to bat on dust bowls or roads. I kinda like watching cricket played in NZ.

10/60 KW. Diabolical. Had hoped these collapses were at an end after installing Indian like practice pitches at the CC in Brisbane. Evidently not. Our batsmen continue to embarrass themselves, their devoted supporters and their country.

DC has offered a possible reason for our continual debacles against spin.. These pitches should have been installed in the centre of an actual ground so they could be fully utilised in an actual game of cricket. I fully concur. A brain snap by the custodians of our sport.

I like the big crowds in India.  When the pitches are spinning they will have spinners bowling from each end.

One sees a lot of cricket played in a short time as spinners get through overs quickly.

One sees a lot of balls played.

I do like the Indian atmosphere. They are cricket mad. But spinathons are not my cup of tea. I much prefer a quick hurling down thunderbolts and having the batsmen ducking and weaving.. I prefer a bloke putting everthing on the line to protect his wicket and build an innings with patience and concentration.
