I’m tipping the following.
West Melbourne and Team 11 will get in.
League will be structured in 2 conferences.
West- Perth, Adelaide, 4 Melbourne teams
East- Brisbane, Wellington, 4 NSW teams.
27 round season with teams playing 3 matches against their own conference rivals, and 2 matches against the other conference teams.
Top 3 in each conference qualify for playoffs.

Fox will be sweetened to televise the extra 27 regular season matches with a ‘rebate’ from FFA paid out of the licence fee cash.

now that would shock me.

4 teams over 3 or 4 years is my guess.

sounds good to me. but WMG will be chosen ahead of T11. 

Team 11 and Southwest Sydney to earn licenses, with blue print to 14 teams announced. 26 or 27 round season next year. Either FFA will pay some sort of rebate or Fox won't televise every match.

Just don't broadcast Nix matches until they are inevitably booted from the league.

I believe a delegation from the A-League clubs involving Anthony di Pietro, Simon Pearce and Scott Barlow will meet with FFa at around 5pm tomorrow to discuss expansion. I understand club chairman Paul Lederer will hook up via phone . Interesting to see how this pans out.

Canberra firming as favourites apparently

I'd love to see Canberra plus SWS and/or SX get up for next season. Followed by Team 11 (pending a stadium deal) plus SWS and/or SX the following season.

Isn't the extra Fox money contingent on a new team in both Sydney and Melbourne? Or was it just for any expansion?

Honestly, I feel like they're prepping Canberra to replace the Nix - would be a good fit.

Yep that's right, how I read it too, 1 each team from Melbourne & Sydney, Canberra to replace Nix & then 2nd teams from Melbourne & Sydney for a 14 team comp. then build the 2nd Division.
 2 teams from Sydney & Melbourne, Wollongong, Gold Coast, Nth Queensland, 2nd Brisbane, 2nd Adelaide, 2nd Perth & Tasmania + 1 more for 12 team B League.

that is correct, which is what many people are continuing to miss (or ignore). even if Canberra have "firmed in calculations" they could not possibily be any higher than 3rd in line at best.

The new Victorian sports minister just confirmed what I have previously said. They want A-league expansion in Melbourne, but do not want to be seen to be favouring any bids. They are waiting for the FFA to announce the preferred expansion candidates before committing any funding. Reading between the lines I would guess they are happy to fund either the stadium for team 11 or the infrastructure required for Western Melbourne.

Should double down and say they want 2 teams :)

Take your guess as to what those 2 teams require for FOX approval but most suggest it's 1 in Sydney and 1 in Melbourne. 

Brisbane also might have got FOX approval if they hadn't bailed

No money in current contract for 7th game 

That's the other side of the coin. What penalties are there for the FFA if they don't produce the extra fixture for Fox next year? Can/ Would Fox walk from the contract if the FFa do not come up with those extra two teams? Too me, its imperative that the FFA keep going with expansion, otherwise they are at the behest of Fox and possibly renegotiating the broadcast contract. On current indicators, that would result in substantial pain for the A League.
