I rate Caletti, just hasn't had the game time. He is gutsy for little guy and plays decent balls quickly with good vision in my opinion. Needs a hard grafting type of 6 next to him.

Daggers I just don't know, seems to know where the net and not afraid to shoot, strong in the air, and powerful shot, has again not seen much game time. I wasn't a fan but has shown some graft in recent times and I'd give him more game time to see what eventuates. Defending needs some work, goes to ground to often and doesn't home up with the ball.

Ingham had a good game some weeks back and showed what he is capable of, like getting in behind and beating his opponent and was right in the game and influencing the game with good energy. But just seems to have lost confidence in last couple outings.

As a wrap up none of them appear world beaters but I'd say Caletti would be my pick.

If we could roll Caletti and Daggers together we'd have a pretty decent mid.

Honestly it's a big test of DD's leadership on whether he drops Taggart. Whether it's confidence or not caring, he was dire last game. DWH seems to at least care and is playing for a contract. He might not be as good a player (we haven't seen much of him to know, tbh) but I'd rather players putting in their all than what Taggart served up last game.

When you've got players who are infected by a negative midset because of such terrible form, you have to bring in new players. The new players are positive because they're being given a chance, and the dropped players are reinvigorated because they're focused on winning back their spot.

I still think DWH should play on the wing. There’s less pressure there than playing 9 (which lately can be a lonely task as we’re unable to get the ball in the right place). The wing also brings his pace in to play and he seems able to come inside and shoot quite nicely.

DWH is the young player that seems to have more current ability and potential than the other youth players. He’d be the first youth I’d keep. Perhaps Cellati second.

From what i have seen of DWH,he deserves a run of games.
He has energy. He is quick. He can tackle. He can shoot accurately. He looks for the ball.
Surely a decent coach can work with him. With those attributes he is not a liability and has a lot of potential.

DWH:

- 8 games
- 15 minutes average
- 120 minutes total
- 0 goals
- 4 shots
- 1 assist
- 63% passing accuracy
- 3 crosses
- 6 fouls
- 1 error leading to goals (the matrix move?)

It’s not enough to say one way or another. Kid needs to double the minutes played over the next two games. 2 starts, 60 minutes minimum each game.

I would like to see DWH given a few starts in a row to see how he goes... Let's get some consecutive minutes into him and give him a chance to show us what he's got.

Reardon is available for Friday’s game; apparently it was “mistaken identity” and he was wrongly listed as being sent off. So:

Suspended is McKay, Bautheac, & Pepper

Injured is Mauk, Holman & Papadopoulos.

I didn't think DWH had had that much game time.
Anyhow yes agreed it'd be good for him to get more time as he is definitely showing good effort every time he takes the field.
Taggart is bloody aweful for a guy with his past record. I'd bench him.

@jimo8. I think he may have played 60 minutes or so one game (when Taggart got injured) and hardly anything the other games.

This from a Courier Mail paywalled article (nothing new in it, just a lot of fluff words all in lines ... how the Mail expect anyone to pay to access it god only knows:

“We are confident that we will appoint the right person to lead our A-League team into the future.” [Pourre]

Englishman Stephen Constantine, who has just stepped down as India coach after four years in charge, wants the job, as does former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson.

Others in contention for the Roar coaching job include former Mariners boss Paul Okon, Liverpool great Robbie Fowler, current Adelaide United football director Aurelio Vidmar, ex-Adelaide City coach Damian Mori, NSL great Gary Phillips, former Socceroo Kasey Wehrman, ex-Brisbane assistant coach Luc Trani, Campbelltown City mentor Joe Mullen and ex-Roar defender Karl Dodd.”

..... of that list, only Trani holds any interest for me (and quite a few of the others don’t hold the necessary licences)

It also says “a couple of senior Roar players want away” .... I’d expect that to be Taggart and one other (Mauk?)

All the rest are off contract or retiring at seasons end anyway. So they’re “away” already.

Not sure that Mauk would be classified as 'senior' either in tenure or age.

I took it to be “senior” as in wage.

Eric is off contract, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he wants away from Australia altogether with the shit refereeing.

There’s only Jamie Young I’d be worried about losing, all the rest have looked like they don’t give a toss most of the time and have bought in to the Aloisi excuse culture that it’s everyones fault but theirs.

Mauk is one of the few I'd like to keep. Taggart can go - there must be others who can bang in one in 7 clear chances and about 50% of the penalties they take.

I don't know about mauk. He seems to have integrated into the club pretty well. He goes out with the boys regularly and has bought a house up here. Taggs definitely seems a bit more on the outer.

Hopefully it is not young that wants away and just someone wanting a January transfer

I’d swap Taggart for Fall-n-Rolli in a heartbeat. Apart from a discrepancy in wages I can’t understand why Roar aren’t banging the door down to do the swop deal.

Taggart seems to get more clear cut chances and misses more penalties than most strikers and yet he still looks like someone pissed in his cornflakes.  A swap with Bruno could be a good thing, but I don't think it will happen this year (there's no point to Roar spending anything until they work out the coaching situation).

I’m actually over (new) coaches who need to change or hire everyone and everything.

If a coach can’t work with a player of Fornaroli’s quality then we probably shouldn’t hire them.

Aloisi brought his mates in to the coaching set up and it’s destryed the men’s team (meanwhile the women are reigning premiers and in the mix for the finals, the women’s youth team are champions of QLD, and the NYL team are one win away from the GF)

I think Young is also fairly well established in brisbane. I think his PHD will keep him here as it would be reasonably difficult for him to transfer it to a different uni.

I'd swap Taggart for Fornarolli as well, has anyone seen Taggart ever smile?

What a disappointment he has been. Fornarolli busts his ars for the ball like De Fondre.

Maybe Taggart should watch them play so he can get some ideas.

Hope Fornarolli is brought in asap, regardless of coach, let Taggart go.
