She is backtracking like all hell. Still trying to twist it in FFAil's favour though. What a disgraceful excuse for a journalist.

Is Lucy a journalist though?

Does she have the prerequisite qualifications?

Best case scenario:
- Gallop and FFA Board resign en masse under the pressure of public opinion
- Craig Foster becomes FFA Chairman and selects his new Board
- Stajcic reinstated in time to prepare Matildas for World Cup.
- Matildas rally around their beloved coach, and are motivated to win the World Cup for Stajcic.
- Fans rally again around the  Matildas, free at last of the wicked witch Gallop and his SJW co-conspiroators.
- Fozzie, as new FFA Chairman, implements the Australian football dream he has preached for decades.
- Australia wins the World Cup within our lifetime, and we chant "Fozzie told us so", and we tell stories to our grandchildren how Australian football doged a bullet at the attempted coup to sack Alen Stajcic before the World Cup.
- Lucy reflects on her life, vows to become a better person.
- Gallop goes back to the Rugby world and wreaks havoc there on an even greater scale.
- As for "Our Watch", internal survey evidence caused it to self destruct, with the Stajcic survey results leaked to Julian Assange at wikileaks causing PM Scott Morrison to give Assange an official pardon.

This whole episode has been very instructive on who the lapdog journalistic attack dogs of the FFA are in Australia.

I know you all read this forum so I'll just say this.

How does it feel to be a lapdog?  How does it feel to continue to parrot the party line while a good coach is destroyed?  Do you have a sherrick of intellectual integrity?

Bark like a dog & bite the bad man & I'll feed you a treat!! Woof Woof!! There you go, good dog!!!

Human garbage.

Just to summarise:
1. Stajcic sacked because of 'toxic environment' - but apparently nothing to do with the anything the coach himself did. Yet no one else has been sacked???
2. Matildas' players unaware of the 'toxic environment' that they've been living in for months as evidenced by their support for the coach.
3. FFA claims Stajcic and the Matildas both know why he was sacked.  Stajcic and many Matildas claim they don;t. e.g. Sam Kerr yesterday: "We are still in the dark. We are in the same boat as the public."
4. Journalists who initially claim to be 'in the know' about why Stajcic was sacked, are now back-pedalling at a furious rate.

So because not all the detailed information is out it’s deemed a major crime and therefore.....

1. FFA to disband
2. Must start a new league and administration
3. Only football people need apply irrespective of expertise
4. Immediately introduce P&R which will fix everything

That’s the shot.

It's pretty clear that the FFA has botched this one and their image in the public eye is only going to get worse with impending lawsuits etc.

What happens down the line is for others to action, but whoever has made the decision to terminate Staj's contract has acted on poor advice and brought the whole FFA board into disrepute.

Nah, Staj wouldnt be doing the media rounds if this wasn't a smoking gun.He would have been advised otherwise and most likely faded into obscurity or gone to coach in some back-water overseas league.

This episode is only heating up.

So funny.
1. Zelic uses her media platform (and information from FFA sources) to suggest that she 'knows' that Stajcic has clearly done something really bad - thereby justifying the FFA decision.
2. Zelic attempts to walk away from her earlier assertions - without any apology to Stajcic
3. Fair minded football fans call her out on this unacceptable behaviour
4. paulc criticises fans for picking on poor Lucy

It's funny you know that people are going ballistic citing the FFA are hiding behind confidentiality and yet it's OK for Stajcic to remain silence.

Lots of hypocrisy going on here.

So Stajcic is no longer silent but .......

As you said paulc, lots of hypocrisy going on from those who claim to want to know what happened .... but defend the FFA's silence

Its so obvious FFA can say nothing, because if they give any reason for dismissing Stajcic that is unfair or implies impropriety on his behalf they will get sued.Lol
Talk about being backed into a corner.
What can FFA do?
All,they can say is that they had a right to terminate because they had a contract that allowed them to.But if they give a reason other than just wanting a change they are caught in a media hellfire ,because there is no justification for the dismissal.
After three weeks they cant point to one, only one act that justifies Stajcic's dismissal.
Any further mutterings that imply Stajcic was responsible for a toxic culture implies he is a bad person and defames him.Which means they have to prove it to the football world and ultimatley to a judge.
They said toxic culture. They have to prove it and its clear now they are grasping at straws and can't.

Then FFA have to somehow hire a new coach and explain what all this toxic culture is that they want to avoid.Because putting someone in harms way is a corporate no.no.But how to do that ,when you cant let the media and new coach know what toxic culture is ,because it then explains the lies that supposedly justified the dismissal of an honest successful coach?
Oh what a tangled web.

Even the poor old FFA apologists are struggling .Lol

In chess this would be getting close to the end game.

As long as the light continues to shine on the cockroaches at FFA ,the pressure mounts.
Be this through the media, the fans or Stajcic in court.
Sooner or later someone,(the weakest link) in FFA will crack and what we all suspect will be revealed.

Yeah just imagine the first press conference with the new coach:
Journo 1: So, what have you been told about the 'toxic culture'?
Journo 2: Have you personally noticed a 'toxic culture'?
Journo 3: What do you propose to do about the 'toxic culture'?

Any response to the effect that there is nothing wrong with the culture, or that the new coach has been told 'confidential' things that the previous coach wasn't be told, further opens the FFA to ridicule and legal action.

The crazy thing about the Stajcic axing is that, up till now, with FFA is blaming staff for not knowing about the "toxic culture" -- and NOT ONE person has stated what that toxic culture involved?

For instance, if Guus Hiddink pushed the 2006 Socceroos in training camp until they nearly broke, but they were among the fittest teams at the World Cup - is that a toxic culture? If you tried that in a Primary School, it would be a toxic culture, but not in the Socceroos.

Did the organisation "Our Watch" apply the same criterion, used for assessing educational institutions such as schools and universities, and applied that criteria to assessing an elite sports organisation?

It comes down to this bottom line: FFA's Board needs to explain their definion of a "toxic culture", or all resign.

FFA cannot say they stand by their decision to sack Stajcic because of the "toxic culture" without giving defintion of what is a "toxic culture".

The truth is, FFA cannot do that, because they have probably defined "toxic culture" from a Far Left ideology which, if made public, would not be agreed with by the majority of Australians.

So you see, FFA needs to keep it secret.

FFA, by keeping their definition of "toxic culture" secret, they are pleading with the public to trust the Board.

No.

I doubt you will hear anything further. The FFA do not have an obligation to explain their definition to anyone.

To do so may simply invite further media attack.

They made their unanimous decision and have stuck by it.

In time the general public will forget about this.

If they don’t define what it is .... how will the new coach know if it’s still there?
Come to think of it, it’d be handy for the players to know what it is too, given at the moment not one of them has said they understand what Gallop is talking about.

No one seems to have commented on the "Our Watch" survey in the light of the latest developments.

At the start, FFA said it was the PFA and Our Watch surveys that contributed to Stajcic having to walk the plank.

But recently PFA came out and said they knew nothing about a toxic culture".

So we narrow down the suspects to "Our Watch" as the main basis for FFA sacking Stajcic. And if we follow the trail, it will come down to who on the Board commissioned "Our Watch" to do the survey.

Speculation: could it be like some Mainstream Media surveys, where they want a certain result, so they go out to get the survey evidence to back it up?

Everyone, I mean everyone, is making noises to justify themselves - Gallop, FFA Board, Lucy, PFA etc -- but not a peep from "Our Watch".

Historically, it is said that it is very difficult to keep a consipracy hidden, when there are large numbers of people involved. Here, there are large numbers of people involved. I predict the details coming to light in the coming decades when various Matilda players write their memoirs.
