My plan this year is to see every QLD NPL and FQPL club at least once (27 clubs). First up will be Peninsula vs Mitchelton on the opening weekend.

Hard to believe the downfall of former leading clubs Western Pride and Redlands. Redlands are just plain ordinary and sprite a shadow of what they were. Not sure what's gone wrong out Ipswich way.

+xHard to believe the downfall of former leading clubs Western Pride and Redlands. Redlands are just plain ordinary and sprite a shadow of what they were. Not sure what's gone wrong out Ipswich way. Redlands were very average last year as well to be honest. I don't know the story, but apparently there were some money issues at the club. I watched the Pride game last night. They have a decent team, and I thought they were the better side in the first half. But they've lost about 5 key players during the offseason, and are rebuilding. With the setup they have I can't see them staying down for long. At the other end - how impressive have Peninsula been? I expected them to be competitive (shoutout to the TPO Rankings ;)), but 4 wins from 4, including wins against Lions and Strikers. They won't just be competitive, they'll be a contender. It's still very early, but my prediction for the Premiership is between Lions, Peninsula and Olympic.

Yes Power was always going to be up there. Agree with the 3 contenders for the championship.

Olympic seems to have adopted a different playing style this year, a lot nicer to watch than a lot of their opposition. Should be an entertaining season

Hmm, still not convinced about WP, I don't think they have the depth in the squad to keep them up in the top half of the ladder and having watched their U20's games this season they don't have much coming through.....but, we'll see what the season brings.

Gold Coast Knights have had a great start to the season for a newly promoted team. I think Ben Cahn from Olympic is definitely worth a look in the HAL at some stage.

Cracks appearing in the Power set-up at the half-way point of the season. Injuries, FFA cup failure and rumoured player unrest taking its toll. Knights desperate to win the league, spending up big signing Matt Smith for the remainder of the season. Lions just appear flat and uninspiring at the moment. Olympic in with a chance for the run home.

Football Queensland (FQ) has conducted an investigation into an incident which involved the ignition of flares during the National Premier Leagues (NPL) Queensland Grand Final at Perry Park, Bowen Hills on Sunday, 15 September 2019. The outcome of this investigation is that an incendiary device was lit and thrown onto the field of play from the designated Olympic Active Supporter Area at Perry Park. FQ issued a show cause notice to Olympic FC on Wednesday, 18 September 2019. A general tribunal was held on Thursday, 28 November, and the charges were heard by an independent panel with Olympic FC represented by Club officials.Football Queensland determined the following charges and sanctions will be imposed on Olympic Football Club: Olympic Football Club was charged with serious misconduct, specifically ‘Letting off incendiary devices(s) or fire(s)’ as outlined in the 2019 Football Queensland Disciplinary Regulations. - The penalty imposed for the above offence is a total fine of $3,000.
- A deduction of three competition points was also applied to the Olympic FC First Grade team for the 2020 National Premier Leagues Queensland, suspended for 2020 on the condition that no further misconduct charge involving Olympic FC supporters is imposed by Football Queensland.
Football Queensland Chief Executive Officer Robert Cavallucci said the recent tribunal decision is a welcome caution to clubs and the behaviour of their fans. “We want to encourage displays of passion at game day events that create excitement for all however, this was a particularly dangerous incident where flares were thrown directly towards players and their families,” Cavallucci said. “Football Queensland will continue to work with clubs to create a safe environment for all spectators, players, and officials to enjoy football.“We will continue to call on a range of sanctions to drive this particular kind of irresponsible behaviour out of our game.”

Well why can't that be discussed to be Nationally - it should be the same all States. I know thats what FQ are doing but it should be agreed by all.
