Paul Green on fox sports news going off in the press conference over the injury It's a difficult situation. This was obviously a case where the game should have stopped. The problem is that trainers have often called for the game to be stopped for tactical reasons with little or no injury to the player. I don't know how you overcome it. Maybe if a game is stopped on a trainer's call the player should go off and be cleared by the doctor before returning. Vossy and Anasta on FOX coverage were spot on.... it was clearly obvious and you didnt need to wait for a trainer's assessment. If 2 players go into a tackle and both drop away from it that fast, you can be sure as hell they have been injured and its sufficiently to hold up play. Its logic. Another thing logical is that the video ref should have authority to send a message to on field refs. The game went on for about 3 more tackles to the disbelief of all. The final nail in the coffin was that Cowboys had to cop a penalty for the game to stop. The Let it Flow edict went way too far on this ocassion. The NRL has to answer why player welfare was put at risk due to their inaction. Also, why does it seem that whenever an out of ordinary event occurs, they ALWAYS get it wrong. A case of damned if you do and damned if you don't...the linesman who you would presume has direct contact with the ref and doesn't have to come hurtling in waving his flag like the old days should have shut it down but a couple of tackles is only 15-20 seconds at most and the trainers were in attendance...so can't see how the players were at risk. At risk usually means they could be caught up in the play itself. So IMO no big deal but the linesman should perhaps have told the ref to halt to play a little earlier. I really don't think the ref himself erred. Steve, there were 2 on field refs. Actually, didnt matter even if it was one. My point is, 2 players collide and fall off a tackle at the same time and are left strewn on the floor, hardly moving. It's not rocket science. They were injured. Common sense should take over and play should stop. The touchie not reacting or doing anything was a mistake on top of the ref mistake.

If PC is to be adopted across this site, it should apply to all. No only an idiot would think it ok to use the term "spastic" to insult someone. FULL STOP. If you want to go into the ins and outs of it I will but gee you say some idiotic things at times Marki and this is perhaps the one that takes the cake. By the time you knew they were strewn and hardly moving the play had probably been stopped. It is not like calling a false start in the Olympic 100 metre final as you seem to suggest.
