ODF, everytime I watch a game from 70's 80's and 90's I see a completely basic version of the game that doesnt take much to referee. Even in some of those you can see errors by refs that just arent picked up or talked about ad nauseam. 

You see back then, you just took it on the chin and go on with it. Media didnt scrutinise. People didnt talk about it.

Nowdays, game is dissected a million times. Coaches and players are probed to comment in interviews in the hope of a fine (to make another story out of it).

You have to understand that rugby league is a commodity now. What happens on the field is about 50% of the product asset. The off-field drama, the footy shows, the judiciary, it's all part of the modern game product. It's the game is a million times better the Yawnion. 

Watch that game. There are ref mistakes every 10seconds but you dont hear a whimper from either commentators or players. They just accept it. It's what league was 30-40 years ago.

Score is 6-6 but line speed variance is massive.
We can win this with some more enthusiasm in defence, smarter marker and tackle well-off and better kick chases.

CHN was a liability in the first half. Hope he picks himself up. Need more angled runs. Too much one out crap. 

I cannot for the life of me believe how poor our line speed is at the beginning of halves. There is absolutely no excuse for it.

Well done Meaney and Cogger who were very good. Danny also brilliant since came on.
Lichaa is just a lost cause.

Jacko and CHN redeemed themselves in the 2nd half with huge plays. 

Elliott was also very good as was Martin.
Chris Smith did a good job off the bench.

We won because the Cows made crucial errors with the ball and we managed to make line breaks. But we were smashed in field gain due to the poor defensive line speed. 

It is the single most important thorn in our game. Ahead of any player skill level or anything else. 

We will be lucky to win more than 20% of games if this persists.

The team look like they are playing for each other and have an Us against the Cheatin NRLol comraderie....good on 'em.

Good win .... line speed issue is that we are one of the teams not allowed to wrestle.

Won the game the hard way, lots of dumb errors but plenty of grit, I'll take this kind of win every game of the season.

Thought one of the big areas of improvement was Meaney playing up in the line. He was great and that change of direction for the first CHN try was brilliant. Poor fekking Lichaa on for a minute and a half and still gets knocked. JMK did not really look like he needed to be replaced. Good bench effort...fastest and hardest I've seen DannyF run in first grade. Extreme dodgy call that the Cowboys player Cooper,,,I think,,,didn't play at the ball when the Dogs kicked through. Perhaps Lewis's least impressive game. And we are no longer last. Big Tony will be speechless

I am virtually not arguing with that but the poor bastard could be left out of the conversation altogether. Marshall King has been good and defends well.

What annoyed me in the few minutes that he got was that he was so focused on who to pass the ball to next that he nearly forgot to pick it up from dummy before the markers nearly pounced on it. 
It was cringeworthy to watch.

I mean....how long do you have to stare at Tolman before you pass him the ball? It's not like you have variation. You know you will be passing it to him, and so does the defence.
