What is this conversion therapy anyway?

What exactly has Short-fused promised to ban?

Basically a form of therapy designed to convert gay people into being straight.
Bill Shorten has promised to ban it on a national level, where as Scott Morrison has also spoke against it, but is claiming that it is a state matter, not national.
I could be wrong but I think Victoria is the only state so far that's banned it.

Right. Didn't realize there was such a therapy other than counseling.

Why I asked because how can you ban that?

You are just being recalcitrant. There was nothing facetious about it. In the old days they use to do electroshock therapy. But that would surely be banned today.

hence my question because I am not aware of any other therapy.

I remember in that book Freakanomics it said that the person that spends the most money will win regardless of their policies.

Makes me wonder that the idiot Clive Palmer is now going to get some seats due to his money & his preference deals with the Liberals who are also impressed with his money no doubt.

I don't like Palmer but the good thing is that he is giving preferences to ScoMo, which now means ScoMo is looking good at retaining 5 marginal seats.

After the misinformation you tried to pull about US police killing someone whilst asleep, I think I need to ask for for the proper context to this as well.

It's not about being right. You stated that the US police killed a rapper unprovoked while laying in his car.

that was not the case because the cops released the body cam. The guy was holding a hand gun, and the cops didn't shoot him until he woke up and started waving it all over the place.

I provided the video evidence.

So I am calling you out on the statements you allege were said by the deputy PM.

I thought it was a pretty fair interview, Leigh asked the tough questions which is what you expect an ABC journalist to do. I hope she does the same with Morrison.
It's not a surprise that some partisans are calling bias, I can understand it to an extent because some media outlets (*cough* Murdoch) are pushing a very obvious agenda but anything anti-Labor is attacked pretty hard.

The story before it though. The dude with a million dollar boat and a berth in a marina. By his figures we taxpayers are subsidising this guy $288 a week on top of his dividends.
I mean good for you that you like boating but find some other way to subsidise your hobbies.

I think you misunderstood what I was getting at.  Generally the ABC is seen a haven of lefty, pinko, pseudo communists that give the Left a free ride.

Of course that manifests itself as screams of BIAS for anyone on the right..

My point was if there was an inherent 'bias' then it certainly wasn't on display last night.

No it isn't seen as Leftie or Communist. Slightly biased yes. Calling them Communist is a bit far-fetched.

And the argument is that its the public broadcaster funded by tax payer so it should be especially impartial.

ABC has the capability to be real cutting edge journalism, The best of the best. Leigh Sales was positively brilliant.

That's because between the rampant homophobia and islamaphobia on display by the lesser candidates they can't get a word in.

It was just 2 candidates out of 150 odd in lower house and Senate.

Some of them just are not that bright, and are shoved in no chance safe seats because the smart cookies won't run in these seats.

Just the way the cooky crumbles. Can't control people and give them rope, they fall on their own sword.

Oh OK yes. I agree.

You may not be following auspol on Twitter, but there is definitely an army of Labor partisans (and I suspect a reasonable number of bots) that are attacking the media personalities for bias. I definitely saw some tweets claiming bias about that Sales interview hence the reply. Happens with Liberal partisans too of course.

Friendly Jordy claims ABC bias as well from the Labor side.

I mean gee, if you claim bias favoring the LNP from the ABC then explain that Sunday program (I literally can't remember the name), with that old guy.

ABC version of Sky News outsiders basically.

I don't mind ABC having programs that favour Shorten, but if they are going o do that they should have some other hacks or programs that swing the other way.

Public broadcaster should be down the middle.

I understand that there are other media outlets that favor coalition but the Labor Party also has the SMH, and the Age too. Don't have a problem with any of that as long as it remains opinion and not masquerade as reporting which it isn't.
