+xSomeone should create a Pro Victory Academy change petition. It should match the anti for numbers pretty quickly. hahaha that's one way to piss them off

+x+x+x+xAbout the Footscray Park development, I went to uni there years ago and have been back to the area a few times recently, and I actually see it as a positive thing. The overall MV academy though does seem a bit fragmented though, as part of the plan if I remember correctly sees other grounds built near Highpoint, which is a few kms away. It’s hard to find land I know, but seems less than ideal from an operational perspective, especially with the club effectively running from 3 locations (AAMI Park, Footscray Park, Highpoint). Any football investment should be welcomed though, as it is not something that is easy to get stakeholders to invest in. Maribyrnong College is 2km from Footscray Park. 2 pitches there and 3 at Footscray Park. Its not ideal, but its hard to find land close to the city and we consider ourselves to be the club of central Melbourne. I also suspect we will be leaving Gosch's Paddock (next to AAMI Park) as a training venue. When you factor in the first team squad, womens squad and numerous youth teams, its not anywhere near big enough. There is also no privacy at Gosch's Paddock I expect our first team will stick with the paddock for the most part due to the top class facilities inside AAMI Park that were built for us. Definitely true that we need a location somewhere central as our academy players will be coming from all over metropolitan Melbourne and beyond and need to fit it in with their education. If Olympic Park hadn't been pointlessly destroyed, it would have been the ideal spot for first team training. Olympic Park's destruction has to be one of Victoria's biggest heritage shames of the last twenty years. Eddie McGuire was on the Athletics Victoria board to make it happen ffs, it's stuffed Little Atheltics in Victoria for ever as Lakeside cannot be used for the state championships 99% of the year, which you could tell would happen because the F1 happens at the same time as the state champs have always been held. Collingwood and McGuire especially should be ashamed of themselves.

Sehavdic latching onto a poor clearance from a long throw and finishes. 1-1. I'm excited by his development as a number 9.

FT 3-2. 6 minutes of added time not enough for City to come back.

Apparently Kurz is a done deal. I don't mind it, he's got a similar win % rate to Musky with far less tools at his disposal. https://twitter.com/GeorgeDonikian/status/1137947047590486016

Hmmmm - judgement is reserved until he gets into the job. Did squeeze a lot of blood out of the Adelaide stone.

+xKurz should be a good fit. Glad to see him stay in the competition Will be a good fit for sure. He’ll get the most out of his squad while forging the squad into a disciplined team who will give their absolutely all instead of having a squad of individuals who were only out for themselves under Muscat (looking at you Troisi and Kosta). As an Adelaide fan, I’m disappointed he’s gone to Victory but I can’t hold it against him.

I can see troisi getting his ass kicked into gear by kurz. He'll be backtracking like no tomorrow . Wonder what players he'll try to bring in if he is the coach

+xI can see troisi getting his ass kicked into gear by kurz. He'll be backtracking like no tomorrow . Wonder what players he'll try to bring in if he is the coach Germans or players who have played in Germany, especially players from the Bundesliga 2. His record is ok but has been very unlucky with injuries. Absalonsen (when fit), Adlung and Jakobsen were fantastic signings. Boland looked even better than Adlung before getting injured and hasn’t reached the same levels since. Cavusevic suffered a career ending ACL injury after playing just four games. He did get some signings wrong in Matmour who looked technically very good but offered little output and left after about 9 games due to his wife being homesick. Ken Ilso was terrible and the less said about him the better. I’m not counting Thomassen as he was a Piet signing. In conclusion, Kurz has 3 very good signings, the jury is out on Boland, one suffered a career ending injury and 2 were duds.

Personally wasn't a fan of Kurz but I think he suits Victory's style quite well.

Any news on Kurz being 100% confirmed? Also saw a report that Antonis is looking to leave. Seems like it will be a very different Victory next season...

Antonis still has a year left on his contract so it will be very unlikely he goes to another HAL club next season, but could potentially take an overseas offer. SFC, WSW and Macarthur have all apparently expressed interest in signing him for the 20/21 season.

I hate that excuse, Melbourne is too far away from his family in Sydney but Greece isn't (previously) so many use this excuse. Having said that hopefully gets another solid year then does go overseas.

No A-League contract can withstand "family reasons" lol
Remember when Mitch Nichols got out of his contract at Perth Glory for "family reasons" and signed for a club in Indonesia eight days later? That was probably my favourite.
