+x+xAfter seeing Montoya’s name listed again for 1st grade.... I officially tap out! Coaching hat disappears for now! Ill put my recruitment & retention hat back on..... no one has an eye for talent as good as me! Poor Crichton gets dumped after being unable to tackle 3 players at once yet the causes on the inside get a free run. Montoya was never a 1st grade centre and is back now in the position he was dropped from??? Fair dinkum, 63 years after watching my 1st Bulldogs/Berries game (from dads shoulders) I am ready to give up and possibly applaud every Roosters try. Sick of the Pay way. I'm sick of watching Tolman and his settlers when we are attacking, Jackson and Elliot grabbing the ball off Cogger and burning it with an inside run. Sick of watching our wingers having to tackle 3 guys. Sick of watching a potential superstar winger (Smith) get no opportunities. When was the last time you saw our guys double pump and have an inside runner? Steveswr would remember but it feels like the ghost of Roger Pearman LOL. Anyway, I'm peed and glad I no longer live in Sydney and don't have the opportunity to go to the games. Pearman only got one year as coach. They've just extended this guy. 8 wins from 18 games was a fail. Won't get any where near that percentage this year.

Probably until they go to another club.

I still think the extension was more about a perception of stability for the players than anything else... If the next two weeks pan out as we expect, and Pay is in charge come rnd 17, I'll start asking questions of the Boards capacity despite the fact I think they've for the most part pulled the right reins... Another really tough decision coming up for them after all they had to do last year...

Crichton was probably our best against Melbourne and has not been anything but solid since....perhaps they want a taller guy to try and combat Rorters kicks...only reason I could think of The only reason I can think of is Pay is completely clueless... That's the best explanation. In fact, the only one. Dropping Ofa to outside the bench...a joke that messes with his head when he gives 100% more than most of those bludging forwards. Pay is not only clueless but becoming a serious menace to the club's credibility.

How can you access players whilst coaching on whims like that. Done similar to others. Crazy stuff.

I finally watched the first 20 mins of the St Merge game, Napa and JMK very good in the first 20, I have been critical of both players previously, but they stepped up and did everything I wanted, now I just want that every week. We did create some good half chances in the first 20, we probably lost the game by not taking them, if we score we also have more possession, and the Dragons are great front runners, they are not so good at handling scoreboard pressure. It was a bad pass, a dropped ball, or simply the wrong guy getting the ball, simple errors but they cost us. Crichton was also probably most responsible for the first 2 St Merge tries, even though the first one was 5 on 3, we need to make the opposition work harder for their tries. The 3rd place we ls lost the game was not having a bench utility, it is a big gamble not having one with the HIA rules, Pay gambled and lost, JMK can do a good job for 80 mins, but when Cogger went off we became a bit of a shambles in attack and defence, if we had Lewis on the bench it might have been different. We need to improve all 3 areas, but the first 20 mins for JMK and Napa was good, I hope they produce more of the same most weeks.

You are correct in that you need a bench utility that can cover the backs. 4 forwards is not needed in our team. We barely run a sweat by waiting for the attack. No reason you should need to rotate 4 forwards. Only if your other half can step up and lead the ship can you afford to have 4 forwards. Foran clearly not up to it. So Pay should learn from this. Disappointing thing is that a nuffie like me can spot this BEFORE it happens while our "coach" needs to experience it before he realizes.

Lewis is out for a few weeks, but he is the ideal bench utility IMO, can cover halves, hooker and centre, we can throw him on at lock.... It is Brown or Lichaa for the next few weeks, Brown good in reserve grade, I don't trust his defence, and he .doesn't have high involvement, but some of his passing and running are good. I'm even happy if Brown sits on the bench for 80 mins for the next 2 games... .

Foran's been playing excellent. As best as can be expected of him,
What Marki doesn't realise or fails to see is it's hard to do all the things he wants of him when he's the most marked man on the field. In fact in any weekend he'd be close to the most marked man in The NRL.
Because every opposition knows - he's all we got to create anything.
His guru Copper Cronk said essentially that in the post game wrap on Fox on Monday night and in the process told us exactly what The Roosters are gonna do this weekend. So listen to the guru Marki.
He knows, he knows! - You keep telling us that
