Ibini and Taggart starting against each other.

Jeonbuk 1-0 up after the Suwon keeper booted it into the Jeonbuk striker’s face and the ball looped over his head and into the unguarded net.

We won't have enough to warrant it.

In terms of having an Aussie player play for a Real Madrid or Barcelona is a lot different to say joining an Ajax unless your playing in the first team, I guess we wonder if that day comes when an young Aussie prospect joining one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Who is our Kubo or Kang-in? Arzani has potential but the context isn’t the same with Kubo or Kang-In with the type of clubs they are in.

For example Kang-In transfer clause at Valencia is 80 million euros and Kubo could have joined his former club in Barcelona, PSG or Manchester City.

It will be interesting observing where all of these players go in the future.

For all the flak that Celtic cops, it's worth remembering that players such as Virgil van Dijk played there before moving to the Premier League. While Liverpool and Arsenal are both, supposedly, considering signing Kiernan Tierney. So you can definitely go places from there. Here's hoping that Daniel Arzani has success there then either goes directly into a Man City starting team or gets onsold to another big club in the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, etc.

It's a real pity that Tom Rogic, despite lots of success at Celtic, hasn't made it to another big side yet. He can be happy with his Celtic achievements and I think he has a good relationship with both the side and its fans. I was really hoping he could follow Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City. Rodgers surely knows that even though Rogic isn't the most complete 90 minute footballer - he's invaluable in when used correctly.

Ange and YFM doing very well.

Play away at FC Tokyo this Saturday night, who are top of the table three points ahead. Big three pointer. Ange could possibly be top of the table next week, at the halfway point of the season.

Jeonbuk v Suwon highlights https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfHO3dUHA8Q
Taggart's goal at 6:02, VAR disallowed Jeonbuk's last-minute winner which Ibini assisted

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I reckon James Forrest could walk into just about any Premier League team. He was electric last season.

Taggart has 18 goals, 5 assists in 35 games this season in A-league and Korea.

Anyone else hit that form? He should be our starting striker right now.

And Tokyo have a midweek game and YFM don’t, so 50/50 chance I’d say.

Good point. Although generally the League cup is played with second string lineups.

If Taggart is our starting striker it will give us the option of playing leckie at RB and we would have some serious pace/speed in our squad

I'm relieved to hear Taggart is doing well in Korea, keep it up!!

Im thinking whod be in that. Can think of Kamsoba, Traore, Gan and Ramsay. Pretty sure Im forgetting a few. Dont think Georgievski still gets Macedonian caps. If you made it an ANZ thread you could mention former A-League player and NZ international Tyler Boyd who now plays for USA

Those four are good shouts. You could add Matthew Davies, the Ingham bros, Roux and Gianni Stensness as well.

I think there’s a few in the NPL and the lower leagues as well. Mitch Cooper has been called up by Vanuatu and Thomas Deng’s brother has been called up by South Sudan in the past as well. Johnny Hall and
Marcus Alimonti both play for Sāmoa as well. I’m sure there are more as well.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Pacifique Niyongabire (Kamsoba’s brother) called up for Burundi in the future and Kenny Athiu for South Sudan.

yeah this has been banged on about for years. i think the ship has sailed on leckie as rb.  imo if he made the move in his late teens early 20's he could have been world class.

Ange Postecoglou Yokohama F Marinos play away to table toppers FC Tokyo in two hours. FC Tokyo have lost three out of their last four league matches. They play tonight without teenage wonderkid Kubo who is off to Real Madrid. If Ange wins by two goals tonight Yokohama go top of the table on goals scored at exactly halfway through the season. That would be an amazing feat I think. It's live and free on Rakuten Sports app for those interested.

Conceded first two goals to goal keeping errors. Ended up losing 4-2 despite dominating most part of the game. Big shame.

Rusty, even for a pre season hit out. Sportklub were gassed by 60 minutes but still made life tricky for those on the pitch.

Griffiths missed an absolute sitter early on and his time away from the game really showed. NL needs to handle very delicately to bring him back to the first team imo otherwise he is going to have a horrid time.

Bayo looked sharp though, like the look of him.
