Jerks with the bye

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

The two fixtures i'm reading don't have Western United in it...

Is there something bubbling behind the scenes we don't know about

early observations:

different kickoff times (5:15 and 7:30 saturday, 4pm and 6pm sunday) must be to do with ch 10?

From a Victory POV, 2 x Adelaide away is great. more friday and less sunday games is great. 4 home games out of the first 5 is interesting. WSW away not until April sucks. and the worst of all, the bye in R29.

Pretty much as expected. All of the extra games on top of the home/away games are derbies or games that typically draw bigger crowds and dollars.
MV will play SFC, MC, AU, PG and WU three times throughout the season.

Wow midnight k\o

It's the Perth game away and the time is NZ time.

I don't think the midnight broadcast time will affect the NZ viewing numbers.

I thought WU were meant to be using 3 stadiums. Unless I have missed it, all their home games are at either Geelong or Ballarat.

Quiet surprised that WU arnt hosting Victory at Geelong on a Saturday night around Rnd 4-5 for the inaugural match between the two.
Thats when the interest would be peaking for then fixture.

yeah Sunday isn't ideal for people wanting to head down to Geelong. I can't get to that game myself unfortunately.

Great. So not only do we get another tough start to the season thanks to the usual "start the season with a bang" bollocks but we get shafted even further by having a harder fixture just because we have more rivals than any other team.

The flipside is that with a higher number of the 'bigger' games we have better opportunities to make more money from ticket sales and other game day revenue. Not sure if it's a fair trade off, but it has the potential to be a positive.

Byes and teams not playing each other the same number of times. Joke of a league.

Melbourne City and Victory away two weeks in a row. Might have to go visit family for 2 weeks.

One less game, but over 29 rounds as against 27. The difference is that last year there were international breaks.

So WU have a home game in Geelong 26th Jan then 1 more game there. With unconfirmed date (so may be before 26/1)

I assume that'll be dependant on the AFL and AFLW fixture.
