+xFuck PSV heard enough bullshit to make me hate them for the next 60 years. What a pitty Culina played for them for so long. Fans are the fucking worst pack of sniping , back stabbing , two-faced idiotic whiners in the history of football. yeah yeah yeah. this is hilarious. european club doesn’t give minutes to australian player. automatically the european club is a joke. you can only say that if you’ve been present at every training session and inside the locker room. ask yourself, maybe sainsbury isn’t good enough. not fitting in well with his team mates. what exactly has he achieved in his career to demand a starting spot? would a club like psv give a shit? this a a proud dutch club. of course they’re gonna play their academy/home grown players over an australian who hasn’t exactly been in great form. there would be outrage if this was reversed in the a-league.

World Cup game against France, WC in general. Come to think of it, Milligan did well there too. Why the fuck watch these games, sign him, and them drop him after one poor showing, in which he played ok. Makes no fucking sense I tells ya. Also , I remember he scored a header in a preseason game. I'd jump ship if the team chemistry sucks. That will play out over the season, probably did last season. Seems like its receipe for disaster

+x+x+xI can't believe what I'm seeing. PSV have re-signed Schwaab after he only left on a free in June. Amazing he couldn't find anything else. A massive slap in the face for Sainsbury. He should leave immediately. What a piss take and it's even worse after being under the eye of management since BVM took over the national team. Schwaab and Baumgartl will undoubtedly be in the defence and Viergever reserve. Yeah just seen that, str8 into the starting XI hey ? fuckin bullshit. Yep, I mean fmd. So many stupid situations this guy strolls into its unbelieable. I'm actually surprised Maty Ryan made good of his career. It's like its just not meant to happen for these guys. HK and Viduka were freaks Ryan was smart to take that Genk loan move and he actually got shown up quite often and I was concerned about which clubs would look at him. Brighton took and punt and he's improved immensely there. Yeah I have always liked the fact hes willing to take the jump and back himself not many goalkeepers can go overseas to a foreign country and can't speak the language and walk into a team. it was always a huge test for Maty he was still very young for a goalkeeper.. I think in a few years a big team will come for him again.

Seems like its receipe for disaster this isn’t under 12 football mate. they don’t give a shit if you scored a header in a preseason game (hahaha you really are setting mediocre standards). pretty sure sainsbury wasn’t the only psv player to score in preseason. low risk signing for psv. if sainsbury really was world class he’d be sold for a handsome profit. if he’s average, then who cares because the club didn’t break the bank.

+xit would be great if he comes back to the a league for a year sainsbury But he soooooo doesn’t need to though. He’s best served finding another European club, if he comes back here he’ll likely end up chasing oil dollars this time next year.

Maybe Sains just isn't as good as we think he is? Some of you blokes are deluded if you think he can hop from not playing a game at PSV straight into the Bundesliga.

So much negativity. Just breathe brother. Do you forget he captained a Swiss premier league side before the World Cup playing as a CDM? Do you remember he was signed by zwolle as a kid and played for them regularly when he wasn’t injured?

While true it's fascinating how players do get picked up by German clubs in such a situation and the manager says 'He's coming from a big club like PSV. There's certainly quality there.' Everything is a label. I expect the links to a move to pick up soon. Japan is a decent suggestion while an A League move wouldn't hurt at this stage.

Half a decent season in Switzerland generally is enough for German clubs to suddenly take notice. I agree his claim is certainly weak and there are better suitors. As mentioned by others there's got to be the added issue of poor networking and there may just be more to it with getting along with the squad and fitting into the system. Watch this space.

He did play a game a few weeks ago, and reportedly went well, but then was overlooked. I have had Foxtel for a few years and watched a bit of Bundesliga 2 when Leckie was playing in that division, as well as Bundesliga. Granted he hasn't played a lot of football the last few years, but for mine, he wouldn't look out of place at a lowly Bundesliga Club, and too good to be playing Bundesliga 2. That is the basis for my comment. Ko note that you haven't nominated where you think he should aim for!

Maty Ryan hmmm, but he was top notch. Sains should come back to an A-League team and actually win something and have a solid season. But he's quite old now, maybe go back to Europe after a season or 2. He just needs consistent game time

Do you remember he was signed by zwolle as a kid and played for them regularly when he wasn’t injured? of course. clubs need to look back 8-10 years ago to convince themselves to sign a player... again this means absolutely nothing. by the way he was signed by zwolle when he was 22 years of age, hardly a kid. not negativity, just realistic. the cold hard facts are sainsbury has barely played 20 club games in the last several years.

That is the basis for my comment. Ko note that you haven't nominated where you think he should aim for! Lets look at the facts of his career post A-league. He played 28 matches for a low-mid table Dutch club, 34 matches in the CSL, 9 games in Switzerland and a handful for PSV. It's taken him 5 years to knock up ~75 club appearances playing at a relatively ordinary standard (compared to where some people here think he should playing at). The past year of his international performances have left a bit to be desired as well. There is nothing to suggest he deserves a shot at Bundesliga level. He could probably hack it at second-division Europe, or somewhere like Korea/Japan or maybe back in Australia.

Trent Sainsbury career description could have been ‘what if I never moved to play in China and instead should have stayed in Holland with PEC Zwolle as a regular starter’.
Seriously how many games has Sains has played in the last few years? It reminded me of Lucas Neill where he got picked for the national team as he was our best defender but rarely played club football.
Hes wiki bio doesn’t look too great with the amount of games he’s played.

The problem with that is he’s one of our best defenders, how many are in his level overseas? Maybe Bailey Wright or Degenek? I don’t think they are better players likes Sains where he can offer more as a ball playing defender. But the concerning part is the CBs stocks are very thin and he happens to be one of our best if not the best option if we’re to make a starting lineup tomorrow.

Obvious move would be to another eredivise team a little further down the ladder. Stay where he’s settled and play regularly at a good level.

Duncan subbed on, Gersbach unused. Ended 0-0 Lambert was a late sub against PSV reserves
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
