+xYes, he’s very good although he needs to work more without the ball. Many players like that around the world. Depending on the manager, some let it go if they can deliver in other ways. I’d rather see more players with skill than just those that can run all day but struggle to do a basic 5 metre pass on a regular basis. Good to see the team fight back.

+xTilio is so damn skilful. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets picked up by a big European club. Which is exactly why SFC needs to lock him up long term so we don't miss out on the transfer fee for the player we've developed.

+xWill be interesting to see how the boys adapt to Malaysia seeing they’ve already played them. IMO Monge is class and definitely needs minutes this season. This is a real test of the coach's and players ability. Losing one game when you play 5 games in a week and a half in tough conditions is acceptable. They knew how we were going to play and they did their homework and nullified us. Now we have to show we have the flexibility to mix up our game plan as needed. There's nothing wrong with trying our number one game plan again, but if things aren't working then we need to change formations and give them something different to think about. If we trot out the same tactics and lose again then that would show our incompetence. The ball is in our court.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

0-0 so far. Ruiz Diaz had a fantastic chance set up beautifully by Tilio, who looks a class above. Totally dominant, these guys look really technically strong and have been fantastic at recycling possession and preventing counter attacks.

Malaysia playing 6 (sometimes 5) across the back with 4 in front of that. Not even trying to play out.

Must've been 80% possession for the first 20 mins, evening up now

4 shots by the Young Roos plus 6 corners. About 60% possession. For Malaysia 3 shots and no corners. Seem to worked out the Malaysian attack for the most part. Might go to extra time and even penalties.

Malaysia probably sat back to allow the coach to assess the situation see if we've changed anything up since last game. They'll probably come out pressing and attacking a bit more in the 2nd half (like when they played Indonesia)
Having possession is good and all but when you've had/close to the same amount of shots (on target at least) as the opposition then it means nothing. I'd like to see our wingers get at them more and really put pressure on them. We can comfortably win this just need a goal and Malaysia will either implode or go for it leaving space at the back for the counter.

Need some imagination and fantasy around the box. It's our game to lose.

Our team looks a lot more co-ordinated than in earlier games. It's good to see the development through the tournament.

Winning football games is 80% creating chances and finishing in the final third, currently this is about 15% of our game.

Looked like Aquilina did a quad while running. How often does that happen...?

Poor-ish touch, poor shot by Brook into the side netting. That could've been it... Also 10/10 for the Malaysian keeper's timewasting. Gulf level stuff.
